The admission process as a management seat student was very straightforward. There will be a one-on-one meeting with the college Bursar in which the bursar will go through the student's mark list. They name a price for the seat and the student can choose what the best fit for him is. Every aided course has the same admission process.
The faculty at Sacred Heart College, Thevara is very qualified and has good experience. They give their 100% to the job at hand. I chose this particular course as I was interested in Management and the commerce field. This course is the highly sought-after course in the college as it stands as Kerala’s no. 1 commerce college. The course difficulty is not that bad as all the papers can be cleared the first time around. The exams and results are published in a very orderly manner. There will be no delays and the classes are also regular.
The course requires the students to do a 30-day internship at an organisation of the student's choice after the 4th semester. It has to be completed before entering into the final year. There is a summer vacation of 1.5-2 months available during the summer (April and May). This is the time when everyone must do their internships. Post-completion the internship certificates have to be uploaded to the students profile.
As a Bcom student, we have the most number of placement opportunities as companies like Deloitte, EY, Accenture etc all come to the campus for recruitment. The salary packages can vary from 3 lakhs per annum to 6.5 Lakhs per annum according to the company. The eligibility criteria for getting placed varies according to the company. The basic criteria maybe to maintain a CGPA of 6.5 or more in all semesters, having no backlogs etc. I have chosen to continue with MBA in the future.
The fee is 10000 per year for B.com Finance and Taxation Aided course. It is split into college fees and university fees for every year. It will add up to 10k. There is a small caution fee of 300 for this course which will be returned to the student upon completion of the course. As I was a management student at the college I did have to pay a hefty sum as a donation for admissions. Management seats in the college are very expensive and not everyone will find it worth the money. I think the management fee I paid could have been put to better use as I also could have joined other colleges with better facilities and better opportunities. The special categories do have reserved spots for admission. It is 10% of the total seats available. There are sports quota seats available which do not require any fees.
The college is known for its extra-curricular activities as much as it is known for its academics. There are a lot of clubs which the students can join according to their will. The college provides NSS and NCC services which are great for grace marks. Clubs like AGF which focus on helping the elderly in the locality are a great attraction. There is a fest’ for every department in the college and it happens at a particular time which the management has allocated. The biggest fest in the college is hosted by the Commerce Department. This is called Tandav and it is done at an international level. A lot of participants from various colleges across the nation come to participate in the same. This gives great exposure to the students and takes them to new levels. Arts clubs like dance, music etc are also very lively present on the campus.
I stay at the College boys hostel called Syro. This is a very old building and is even older than the actual college itself. It provides a single room for every student. Great for privacy and it is very affordable with a monthly fee of just Rs.3000. There is a common toilet area on every floor. When joining the student has to pay 8000rs in advance which includes a 6000rs caution deposit and 2000 in registration fees. The curfew is at 9:30 pm. There is no food provided. But it is right next to the college canteen which is open till 8:30 pm. There are various restaurants in the locality as well. Two-wheeler parking is available on the campus.
The eligibility according to our teachers is that we have to get the 7.5 above CGPA and the number of companies that have visited and recruited are TCS Wipro et cetera and the highest package will be to 7 and lowest will be 2 lakh my plan after the degrees that I will opt for higher studies and specialised in some specific course like Java and will look for the companies like that
college provide best on their placements , as a part of making college to be best at the era . principal told to our batch that they will provide 50% of placements , i am glad to be in this batch because sometimes i may get a college placement to make an expirence for the future jobs
I chose Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) because of my interest in technology, programming, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The curriculum follows KTU regulations and covers both theory and practical subjects. Most faculty members are qualified . Internal exams and semester exams are conducted on time. The difficulty level is moderate to a lil bit high and students who attend classes regularly can perform well.
I choose this course because i have a strong interest in history and understanding past events, and culture and their impact on the present.the course curriculam is well structured and covers both core elective subjects, giving a balanced understanding of historical concepts.
There are few placement opportunities like infosys but we can't opt for high salary paying jobs.I am planning to complete mtech after graduating btech. There are many students with jobs from college selection but I don't like many jobs from college as per their salary
The faculity is generally experienced and supportive most students are satisfied. With the teaching clinical exposure. Facilities are friendly with the students. Regularly conducts class test and model exam to help students prepare for their studies and university examination. Faculties are high qualified and experienced
Most of the faculties are bds or mds graduated and well knowledged. Classes are mainly powerpoint presentation based and seminars. There are 2 internals and one model examination based on which qualification for university exam is determined.
I love zoology.. I want to build my career on this subject. My faculty has phd.. She teaches well.. I could understand all concepts very easily. There are internal exams. I am studying four year fyugp course. So there is only one internal. And then there is sem exms at last. If u study well u could score good marks. Little difficulty
As I'm a first year student I've not got information about the placement but there are so many placement options from South Indian Bank, icici bank and also from companies like deliotte etc The college has connection with many international companies too.
Minimum criteria for placement is for a student with minimum arrears.Even though supply there if you have skill then you will be placed .Amal Jyothi has a better placement compared to other college and is very good
