• At Hope, we approach teaching biology in a dynamic and extremely practical way. Practical biology will be the main focus of your education, with opportunities for study in the lab, on field trips, and at biological research facilities. In order to enable research-informed teaching in current areas of evolutionary biology, animal behavior, conservation biology, insect ecology, avian biology, bioinformatics, genomics, and stable isotope ecology, our lecturers are passionate, personable, and actively engaged in research.
  • Biology classes cover more theoretical and technical topics in interactive lectures, which are followed by small-group tutorials and workshops to further explore the material. You will actively engage in every facet of the subject of biology, not just the theory. You'll be competent to conduct independent study projects, and will be encouraged to consider the wider impacts of Biology on society and everyday life.
