Karnataka Janapada Vishwavidyalaya also popularly known as Karnataka Folklore University was founded in 2011. It was constituted by the government of Karnataka under the act, i.e The Karnataka Janapada Vishwavidyalaya Adhiniyama, 2011 with the vision to advance folklore studies and culture.

The university has officially gotten recognition from the Grants Commission of India. The university is recognized by the Grants Commission of India, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). It is also approved by the Pharmacy Council of India.

Karnataka Janapada Vishwavidyalaya Admission

  • The foremost step for applying to Karnataka Folklore University is to download the admission form from the official website. 
  • After downloading the respective form, candidates need to fill the form and submit it at the university to the registrar evaluation with a DD of INR 300/- for the general category and INR 150/- for SC/ST/ CAT-1.
  • Applications will be sorted by course, and the admission committee for every course will evaluate which applicants will be admitted to which programs based on their performance on the qualifying examination, their qualifying test scores, and their academic and extracurricular activities.
  • The MBA students need to appear for the entrance exam recognized or conducted by the university.
