Karnataka State Dr. Gangubai Hangal Music and Performing Arts University, abbreviated as KSGH Music and Performing Arts University is primarily a music and performance arts (dance, drama) research and performing university established in Mysuru by the Government of Karnataka in 2008. It is a public state university and is approved by University Grants Commission or UGC.

The university was initially named Karnataka State Music and Performing Arts University. After the death of Padma Vibhushan awardee, Gangubai Hangal, in 2009, the university renamed itself Karnataka State Dr. Gangubai Hangal Music and Performing Arts University to honour her.

The main university campus is well connected to other central locations. It is located 3 km from the Mysore Railway Station, 4 km from the Mysuru Bus Stand and 15 km from the Mysuru Airport (Mandakalli).

  • The university provides several undergraduate, postgraduate, postgraduate diploma and certificate courses along with one D.Litt course across music, instruments, dance, drama and yoga.
  • Apart from pursuing their degrees, students are also involved in organizing community engagement activities including but not limited to workshops, conferences, cultural programmes, festivals, competitions, sports activities, awareness programmes and wellness programmes.
