The university of agricultural and horticultural science (UAHS), Shivamogga came into existence in 2012. The institution aims to impart excellent education that aids in the development of agriculture, horticulture, and forestry.

The university utilizes the diverse Agro ecological conditions to educate the students about the natural resources available in India and how to use them efficiently. Keladi shivappa nayaka agriculture university is one of the first universities which offer students a degree in agriculture and horticulture. Further, 9 agricultural and horticultural research stations are owned by the institution which even helps farmers by providing inputs to improve their yields.

  • The university has 13 all India coordinated research projects and 33 privately funded projects currently. By releasing several varieties of crops, they have also introduced several technologies for the improvement of the efficiency of agricultural production.

  • There are different modes of admissions for different programmes in UAHS.
  • Admission in an undergraduate programme is done through Common Entrance Test conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority. 
  • Admission in the post-graduate programme is done through a common admission process across four Farm Universities of the state. The admission process involves a written entrance examination.
  • PhD. admissions are made through a written entrance examination separately by the University. Entrance to post matriculation diploma is done on the basis SSLC marks.
