GNSU Admission Dates 2027

The upcoming GNSU admission cycle covers medical and non-medical courses. NEET UG is used for MBBS and several health sciences programmes, while CUET is accepted for non-medical UG admission. The available registration schedule is given below.

GNSU Courses and Fees

GNSU runs courses through eight faculties covering medicine, health sciences, engineering, agriculture, law, management, humanities and related fields. Major course fees, durations and entry requirements are listed below.

Within agriculture, students may choose conventional fields such as agronomy, genetics and plant pathology or allied subjects such as horticulture and floriculture. GNSU also offers B.Tech Agricultural Engineering and B.Sc Horticulture. Nursing and allied health students receive clinical exposure through the medical college's 1,150-bed teaching hospital.

GNSU Admission Process

GNSU uses different selection routes for medical and non-medical programmes. Medical seats follow NEET UG or NEET PG rules and the counselling conducted by MCC or Bihar authorities. CUET and the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE) are among the routes used for non-medical courses.

1. Select the programme and check its Class 12, graduation, subject and minimum-mark requirements.
2. Take the entrance examination accepted for that course, such as NEET, JEE Main, CUET, BCECE, CAT or MAT.
3. For medical courses, join the applicable MCC or Bihar state counselling process using the valid NEET score.
4. For other programmes, admission is completed through the relevant entrance route or merit selection stated for the course.

MBBS Admission

Narayan Medical College has 250 NMC-approved MBBS seats. The intake was raised from 100 seats in 2023. Seat allotment follows NMC rules through the All India Quota and Bihar state quota counselling systems.

• Applicants need at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the 10+2 level.
• They must be at least 17 years old by December 31 of the admission year.
• A valid NEET UG score is compulsory.

MBBS Cutoff Range

Recent NEET UG closing ranks have differed between the private management and Bihar state quotas. Final cutoffs change with the NEET score distribution and the available seat matrix.

Health Sciences UG Admission

Bihar's state nursing and paramedical counselling authority handles admission to B.Sc Nursing, BPT and BOT, while B.Pharm also follows PCI rules. A NEET UG score is required for B.Sc Nursing under the stated regulations.

• Students must have completed 10+2 with PCB and at least 45% marks.
• B.Sc Nursing applicants need a valid NEET UG score.
• B.Pharm, BPT and BOT accept CUET UG or the university entrance route.

Engineering and Technology Admission

B.Tech applicants may use JEE Main, CUET UG or BCECE scores. Eligibility requires PCM in Class 12 with at least 45% marks. BCECE Agriculture scores are also accepted for B.Tech Agricultural Engineering.

Management, Commerce and Law Admission

GNSU considers CAT, MAT and CUET PG scores for MBA admission. LLB admission uses graduation merit, while BA+LLB admission is based on 10+2 merit, with both routes following BCI rules. BBA and B.Com Hons use CUET or direct merit selection.

GNSU Placements and Career Outcomes

Career routes at GNSU depend on the field of study. Management, engineering and law students may enter regular campus recruitment, while graduates of MBBS, Nursing, Pharmacy and allied health courses generally move into clinical work or continue to postgraduate study.

According to NIRF 2025 data, graduates of 3-year UG programmes received a median salary of INR 2.47 LPA. The reported median for 5-year programmes, mainly on the health sciences track, was INR 9.70 LPA.

GNSU Scholarships

Eligible GNSU students can apply for Bihar government and central government aid through the National Scholarship Portal. The university also provides limited fee reductions to students selected on merit.

Medical students are advised to submit applications through Bihar's scholarship portals by September each year. Residents and postgraduate students who qualify through NEET PG may receive stipends under NMC norms, ranging from INR 40,000 to 65,000 per month for MD/MS residents.

GNSU Campus and Infrastructure

GNSU's 80-acre main campus stands in Jamuhar village near Sasaram in Bihar's Rohtas district, along the Patna-Varanasi highway, NH 19. It accommodates the faculties of Engineering and Technology, Agriculture, Management, Law, Commerce and Social Sciences.
