ABVMU Lucknow Courses and Fees

ABVMU's affiliated institutions offer medical, dental, nursing, paramedical and allied health programmes. The following figures show the latest available general or government quota fees, together with course duration and entry requirements.

At government medical colleges, the subsidised government quota fee for the full MBBS programme is INR 1,80,000. Private medical colleges charge more, with their fee structures controlled by the UP Fee Regulatory Committee. BDS study at a private dental college also costs considerably more than at a government institution.

ABVMU Lucknow Admission Process

National entrance examinations and Uttar Pradesh counselling govern medical and dental admission at ABVMU-affiliated colleges. Applicants cannot enter these programmes directly or use a management quota route outside the approved counselling system.

MBBS and BDS Admissions

Admission to either MBBS or BDS depends completely on NEET UG performance. After the result, the Directorate of Medical Education, Uttar Pradesh, conducts state counselling.

• Take NEET UG and meet the qualifying score set under NMC rules.
• Create an account for UP state MBBS counselling on the DGME UP portal.
• Enter college choices and join the applicable seat allotment rounds.
• After receiving a seat, report to the allotted ABVMU-affiliated college with the original documents and pay the required fee.

Applicants must pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The minimum combined score is 50%, or 40% for SC and ST applicants. They must also be at least 17 years old by December 31 of the admission year.

MD, MS, DM, M.Ch and PG Diploma

NEET PG rank determines admission to MD, MS and PG Diploma courses, while DM and M.Ch seats are filled using NEET SS rank. DGME UP begins state PG counselling after the NEET PG result. To qualify, a student needs a recognised MBBS degree and must finish the compulsory rotating internship before counselling starts.

Nursing and Allied Health Programmes

Marks in 10+2 are used for admission to B.Sc Nursing, GNM and most undergraduate paramedical courses. An affiliated institution may conduct its own selection test for some allied health programmes. Depending on the course, applicants need a PCB aggregate of 45% to 50% in 10+2.

ABVMU Lucknow Placements and Career Outcomes

Students graduating from ABVMU-affiliated colleges enter healthcare and biomedical professions. Most MBBS students from government colleges must first meet the Uttar Pradesh Government's rural service bond requirement before they begin postgraduate education or private practice.

Common choices after MBBS include MD or MS study through NEET PG, work in government health services such as NHM, PHC and CHC, and clinical roles in Uttar Pradesh's private hospitals. BDS graduates may work in private dental clinics, enter government dental services or continue to MDS.

Government medical college graduates in Uttar Pradesh generally complete a 1-year rural service bond after internship because their MBBS fees are subsidised by the government. Failure to complete the bond leads to a financial penalty. Students hoping to take NEET PG immediately after internship should consider this condition before accepting a government MBBS seat.

ABVMU Lucknow Scholarships

Students at affiliated colleges can apply for government support through the UP Scholarship and Educational Fee Reimbursement portal. For approved courses in government-affiliated colleges, eligible SC, ST, OBC and minority students receive fee reimbursement from the Uttar Pradesh Government.

Government quota MBBS students already pay a subsidised fee at ABVMU-affiliated government colleges. Eligible students can use state or central scholarship schemes to cover part of this expense.

ABVMU Lucknow Campus and Infrastructure

ABVMU's administrative and academic base is at Chak Ganjaria City, Lucknow. During its first years of operation, from 2020-21 to 2022-23, the university worked from a transit campus in Vibhuti Khand, Lucknow. Its permanent Chak Ganjaria campus is being developed with academic and administrative facilities.

ABVMU mainly handles academic regulation and governance as an affiliating university. Teaching takes place across its network of more than 38 colleges, where students use attached hospitals, clinical training facilities, simulation laboratories, anatomy halls and nursing skills laboratories. Sarojini Naidu Medical College in Agra, Moti Lal Nehru Medical College in Allahabad and the Government Institute of Medical Sciences in Greater Noida are part of this core government teaching network.
