Meerut College Admission Process

Most Meerut College admissions are based on academic merit and processed through CCSU. B.Ed, M.Ed and PhD applicants follow the entrance or selection procedure assigned to their respective programmes.

UG Admission for BA, B.Sc and B.Com

Applicants register on the CCSU admission portal. The university uses Class 12 marks to prepare the UG merit list. The basic course requirements are:

  • BA applicants must have passed 10+2 in any stream from a recognised board.
  • B.Sc applicants need 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM), or Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB), according to the chosen specialisation.
  • B.Com accepts students from any 10+2 stream, although a Commerce background is preferred.

Economics, English, Computer Science and Biotechnology seats are often filled through the first merit list. SC, ST, OBC and EWS applicants receive reservation benefits under the Uttar Pradesh government's seat reservation rules.

B.Ed Admission

Entry to B.Ed is determined through the UP B.Ed Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). Lucknow University conducts this examination each year on behalf of the Uttar Pradesh government. Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree with at least 50% aggregate in the relevant subject combination. CCSU-affiliated colleges are allotted through centralised counselling based on UP B.Ed JEE scores.

Admission to LLB and Integrated Law Courses

Graduation in any discipline is required for the 3-year LLB course, and selection is merit-based. For the integrated BA.LLB and B.Com.LLB courses, applicants need at least 45% aggregate in Class 12. Their 10+2 marks are considered through the separate CCSU legal education counselling process.

PG and PhD Admission

Marks in the relevant undergraduate degree decide admission to MA, M.Sc and M.Com, with applications submitted through the CCSU portal. PhD applicants normally take the CCSU Research Entrance Test (RET) and then attend a departmental interview. A valid UGC-NET or CSIR-NET qualification may allow an applicant to attend the PhD interview directly without taking RET.

Application Steps

  1. Open the CCSU online admission portal and complete the registration form for the chosen course.
  2. Enter the required academic information and submit the application through the portal.
  3. Check the applicable merit list, entrance result or counselling schedule for the programme.
  4. Complete counselling or the departmental interview when the selected course requires it.
  5. After allotment, confirm the seat by completing the college admission requirements.
