Admission to Bachelor of Design (B.Des) in Textile Design requires candidates to meet one of the following criteria:

• Successful completion of the plus 2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern from any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education/State Board New Delhi/Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi.
• Attainment of a passing grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.
• Successful completion of any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to the 10+2 system.
• Completion of the General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level/ International Baccalaureate (IB).

The maximum age for admission should not exceed 24 years as of August 1st in the year of admission. However, candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Person with Disability (PWD) categories may be eligible for a relaxation of up to 5 years in the upper age limit.

For applicants to the B.Des programs, the selection process includes a written examination consisting of a Creative Ability Test (CAT) and a General Ability Test (GAT). Shortlisted candidates from the written examination undergo a Situation Test. For foreign nationals, a valid SAT score is required for B.Des. admission. Students are required to participate in the college entrance exam, and selection is based on the exam's merit. In the event of tied scores, preference will be given to older candidates in terms of age.
