Placement Experience:

Placement is based on the results in neet pg entrance examination. About 90% of students get placement. Packages range from 50000 to 1 lakh per month. My plan is to get seat in orthopaedic as postgraduate.

Remarks:

It's is ranked top in Kerala among the medical colleges. There is more exposure to different types of medical cases here. Infrastructure need to be improved and its been developing so well now. Neet entrance exam with rank above 4000 is required to get admission here.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum and academics are very great. The faculty is very well educated and helping. The faculty is well behaved and very good and are proficient in their respective fields. Overall experience is really great here.

Remarks:

There were many factors that made me choose this college like the quality education and the campus area, the locality and the reputation of the college. The alumni of college are much successful and are well placed. Also the Kerala University of Health Sciences is one of the best universities to study in .

Placement Experience:

No need to talk of placements here right? Right after the course we are well privileged indian medical graduates. We have many opportunities in PG we could do here in India, may move out and get settled as international graduates in UK Australia etc.

Remarks:

I had attended the NEET entrance and was allotted to this college. I had attended many discussions before attending the exams. My NEET score mine was 637 and I guess that was precisely the cut-off mark to enter this college.

Placement Experience:

After the 5 year course, we will have a year internship in the hospital. The internship is paid and after ug when we enter into pg will be paid. As this is a government college you will be paid around 25000 for a month of internship.

Remarks:

To get admission to a government medical College we have to attend an entrance examination that is neet and if you are a general category student you have to score more than 600 and after that, we have to go through an allotment process. Through the allotment process based on the mark we got on the entrance examination, we will get admitted to a medical college.

But some departments are okay. the clinical exposure we got here is really good There are a lot of clinical cases here and the community medicine department here was so good so we got many field work. Placement Experience:

We have a 1 year complete compulsory internship in the college itself after 4.5 years of college which is paid around 26k. No other placements after internship is provided by college. We can either continue higher studies or can start a clinic

Remarks:

After +2 i wrote NEET UG exam to get in to gmc kottayam. My marks in NEET was 650, AIR-3944, Kerala rank-651. The college is having good academic section and one of the leading hospitals in kerala. Teachers are very supportive and experienced. We have yearly arts fest, sports fest, religius festivals, other entertainment activities. The college has its own gym, cricket ground, football ground, basketball, volleyball courts,Table tennis, badminton court. The infrastucture is very poor. And campus is not so charming as it's in new construction phase.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course(MBBS) since I always wanted to be a doctor and serve people since I was little. As we know, the MBBS course is 5.5 years + 1-year internship, so it is going to be a little hectic. The faculty teaching us is good as they prepare ppt slides and explain to us everything also most of the faculty members are PGs and they are very friendly and cooperative. Although, I admit a few professors can be sometimes rude and intolerant. There are a total of 4 exams, 3 internal exams, and 1 Final Exam(that is the University exam). To be eligible to write the university exam, you need to secure a pass mark in 3 of the internal exams(including the practical exams). The internal exams are conducted 3 months apart starting from the date of the commencement of class. so it can be difficult to understand the subjects and hardly any students pass the internal exams. There are scholarships like National Portal, MCM, and ones that benefits OBC, SC, and ST students

Remarks:

There were around 10 government medical colleges in our state(Kerala). I chose this college because it was near to my home and also it is one of the top medical colleges in the state. To get admission to this college, you must clear the NEET exam and must have registered in the KEAM portal for availing seats via state quota and in the NTA portal for availing in All India Quota. The cut-off marks for getting admission to Kottayam Medical College vary each year and as a general rule, a minimum of 640 marks is necessary for getting admission in the case of general and OBC students. Also, there are few seats reserved for disability, nurses quota, sports quota(individual & team), NCC, etc. There is also 1 seat reserved for Jammu & Kashmir students, but it varies each year and shifts to other colleges of Kerala. On the admission day, there may be a short interview with the principal.
