MBBS for future

What I Liked

The incoming patient which are in huge numbers it's easy for an mbbs students to learn by seeing different cases along their course
College with friends are best thing for enjoyment other than studies

What I didn’t like

College and hospital maintenance are not upto mark
Roads are very bad ,to maintain patient crowd

Placement Experience:

After completing 4th year of mbbs ,we are now eligible for internship which is a one year course,where we have to serve our hospital (stipend also included) After internship they have to write neet pg for further studies

Remarks:

Government college are best for persuing mbbs But infrastructure is not upto the mark We have to write neet for pursuing mbbs And score top marks to get into government medical college reservation are provided

All you need to know if you are trying to get into MBBS in MIMS, Mandya

What I Liked

It's about the people we need and the subject we study
I love how everything is open to teach us something or the other, we get to learn a lot in the hospital

What I didn’t like

Only this I dislike is that in our first year, we won't even know what we are doing. But eventually we will get there
All they do in the class is just read out their ppt loud and we have to study on our own

Placement Experience:

As you all know, while doing MBBS, we get to do whole 1 year of internship in the same hospital. We get a lot of clinical exposure during the internship period. We get to work under senior doctors. And this internship is even a paid one. We get a monthly stay-fund of around anywhere between 20000-30000

Remarks:

To choose MBBS are my career there were no complex factors but my passion to be a doctor. It was my dream course from my childhood and I'm proud of myself now that I'm pursuing my childhood dream. To get into MBBS course in any college we need to give one national level entrance exam called NEET(National Eligibility Entrance Test)after passing 12th standard. This test consists of 3subjects(biology,physics and chemistry). The syllabus is both 11th and 12th standard syllabus

What I Liked

Lecture halls are nice ,Spacious and well maintained.
College ground it's very huge .we can play any sports there .

What I didn’t like

College road is not well maintained. it is not organised.
Canteen is not there in college campus for students.

Placement Experience:

Placement is not there in medical Colleges .one year mandatory internship is there .In which government pays stipend of 30,000 .All the students get internship for compulsory.only after the completion of internship students get their degree.

Remarks:

Connectivity is good . ACADEMIC IS GOOD. Entered this college through NEET. After NEET examination all india college allotment process is there .Onse should have 640+ to get addmission in college .I prepared myself the neetby giving so many tests and multiple revisions.

Managing life in Mims,Mandya as a MBBS student

What I Liked

Good infrastructure with lifts. Good and pleasant environment Campus life is good with a lot of cafes and gyms and parks nearby.
College is very close to hostel and hospital.

What I didn’t like

The bathrooms in the main campus can be improved.
No night life in Mandya which is not likeable by many metropolitan students.

Placement Experience:

The final year is the compulsory internship program , in which the students do their job as doctors in the college general hospital. It builds the students practical skills and knowledge. After that students can opt to join any hospital as a general doctor or they can opt for NEET exam to get a PG seat and do their Master degree course.

Remarks:

Good aspects : Very pleasant environment Cafeteria in college campus Good infrastructure Well equipped facilities Very close to main hospital and hostel Huge patient load Bad aspects : No night life Less diverse cuisine Teaching is average Mess food is average

The factor made me to join this college are: 1.It is in the top 4 govt medical College in Karnataka 2.It is near to mysuru(my town) and it is also near to Bengaluru also 3.College has very good environment 4.The hospital college and hostel are in same campus 5.college has the 18 years of experience The only Admission test taken for the admission to govt medical College is NEET UG

What I Liked

I like the canteen inthe top of the college
The hostel is in the same campus ,I like it

What I didn’t like

Faculty come and do the lessons as they want they even not care us
There is no much importance for sports and other

No campus placement are available in our campus,after completing our mbbs ,we will do one year internship in the same campus.Later we may go and work in other hospitals, or we can do post graduation by writing neet pg.

Remarks:

I wrote neet 2023 exam ,I scored well in this ,later I attended the counseling done by kea I then got this college .later I asked with my parents and friends I joined this college .It is one of the top college in Karnataka

What I Liked

The college has very good faculty,where they teach us in unique way with many examples,live demonstrating etc
College has good infrastructure and campus like having library and reading room in college itself and good and vast play ground

What I didn’t like

Hostel is the main issue where the rooms are not at all good.
The food which they provide is not at all good.

Placement Experience:

Internship will be there for last one year of our course.and we will be appointed as junior doctor ls in our own college hospital.the current salary for internship is 32000 per month.there will be many shifts like 12 hours,24 hours even also 36 hours shift sometimes

Remarks:

This college as very good faculty.they will take care of students and they teach us in first year only in classrooms and in next three years we will be posted in hospitals where we can interact with the patients and learn how to daignose them

A quick review...

What I Liked

College infrastructure is well built but is old.
Faculty here is good which guides you in further studies.

What I didn’t like

The infrastructure is old and hospital present within the campus.
Campus Life here due to attached hospital makes it different unlike other colleges.

Placement Experience:

Eligibility criteria for the placement is that we should clear the university examinations conducted every and pass the conducted exams. Internship salary is about 30000 which is done after fourth year in same college hospital.

Remarks:

Mandya institute of medical sciences is a government medical institute which is among the top colleges of Karnataka and is well placed between two big urban cities. Coming to the cut off this year is about 645+ in neet examination for general category.

Mims the untold story

What I Liked

Faculty in the college is very good and supportive
College is at the heart of the city so that u can reach out easily for basic needs

What I didn’t like

As the college and hospital are in the close proximity will make slightly difficult for events in college
Hostels and college are not that much hygiene as expected

Course Curriculum Overview:

Faculty in our college is really good they keep us on the tracts of studies . And they guide us if anything needed for us . Curriculum is also very helpful it a CBME curriculum it means compitative based medical curriculum it will mainly focus on developing skills through knowledge

Remarks:

The main aspects that made this college over other colleges is of its patients inflow. College having high patient infolw will improve your clinical knowledge. And another having the college in the centre of the city will be helpfull

MIMS AS A CHOICE

What I Liked

College building and nature around it and is amidst the city of Mandya
Not much a very hyped infrastructure they have minimal outlook and balanced life in college

What I didn’t like

Locality it's too much congested area for a college to be and the campus is too small
No proper basic amenities in and around college. the college is a bit old in its infrastructure and no scope of development still

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is based on CBME CURRICULUM NMC guidelines is a competence based learning aspect which mainly focuses on skill development and competency over certain skills and required knowledge. Academically the college is well placed with highly experienced faculties who look out for us day in and day out

Remarks:

Only we had give out neet UG examination and we score a good marks and enter into the counseling procedure to get an admission to the college The counseling for Karnataka state was conducted by KEA AUTHORITIES and thus according to the ranks we were allocated the college
