DYPCET Kolhapur Courses and Fees

Students can choose from seven B.Tech specialisations, a lateral-entry B.Tech route, B.Arch, two M.Tech specialisations and PhD programmes. Under the general quota, every regular B.Tech branch carries the same total fee of INR 4,96,000. The fee committee for private unaided engineering colleges under DTE Maharashtra regulates these charges.

A regular B.Tech student pays INR 1,24,000 per year, equal to INR 62,000 per semester. State government scholarship reimbursement can reduce the amount payable by SC/ST students. The B.Arch fee for OBC students is charged at the separate rate shown in the table. DTE Maharashtra's fee committee regulates all these fees.

DYPCET Kolhapur Admission Process

DYPCET does not conduct its own entrance test or interview for B.Tech admission. Seats are allocated centrally through the Common Admission Process conducted by DTE Maharashtra. The entrance examination and counselling route varies by programme.

B.Tech Admission

Applicants must meet the following B.Tech eligibility conditions:

• Pass Class 12 from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
• Obtain at least 45% aggregate marks in PCM under the General or OBC category, or 40% under the SC/ST category.
• Hold a valid MHT-CET 2026 percentile for the 85% state quota seats.
• Hold a valid JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 NTA score for the 15% All India Quota seats.
• Have Maharashtra domicile status to claim a state-quota seat.

The admission procedure follows these steps:

1. Appear for MHT-CET or JEE Main through the relevant quota.
2. Use the entrance score to obtain a merit rank.
3. Register for CAP on the Maharashtra State CET Cell portal.
4. Upload the required documents for verification.
5. Submit the choice form with preferred colleges and engineering branches.
6. Check the seat allotment issued in each CAP round and complete the required admission formalities.

For the 2025 General Open Home State category, the CSE closing score was 93.1 percentile. Civil Engineering closed at 73.63 percentile.

B.Tech Lateral Entry

Polytechnic diploma holders may enter the second year of B.Tech through MAH DSE CET and the related CAP process. This lateral-entry route lasts three years and has a total fee of INR 3,72,000.

B.Arch Admission

Admission to B.Arch requires Mathematics in Class 12 and a valid NATA or JEE Paper 2 score. Eligible students receive seats through the DTE Maharashtra B.Arch CAP process.

M.Tech Admission

Applicants need a B.Tech or BE degree in the relevant field with at least 50% marks. Selection is based on GATE or the MAH M.Tech CET organised by the State CET Cell, while DTE Maharashtra M.Tech counselling manages seat allotment.

DYPCET Kolhapur Placements

DYPCET Kolhapur has a placement cell that coordinates campus recruitment. In 2024, employers made 271 offers, and 222 students secured placements. The highest package that season was INR 7.8 LPA. Across all years, the college reports more than 2,265 student placements and participation by 520+ companies. Recent seasons have recorded a placement rate of 92% among eligible students.

The most recruitment activity is seen in CSE, AI and Machine Learning, and Data Sciences. Students from Mechanical, Civil and Chemical Engineering mainly enter manufacturing, construction and process-industry roles across the Kolhapur, Sangli, Pune and Mumbai belt. Campus recruiters regularly include companies from information technology, manufacturing and the auto-ancillary sector.

DYPCET Kolhapur Scholarships

Students may apply for Maharashtra government support, national schemes and scholarships offered by the DY Patil Group. Reserved-category students can receive reimbursement that covers the full tuition fee, subject to the rules of the relevant scheme.

For SC/ST students, the regulated B.Arch charge is INR 2,695 per year, making the five-year total INR 13,475. This concession is linked to Maharashtra's reservation-based fee structure. Each scholarship must be renewed annually through the applicable state government portal.

DYPCET Kolhapur Campus and Infrastructure

DYPCET is based in Kasaba Bawada, Kolhapur, and forms part of the DY Patil Education Society's network of institutions. Academic facilities include laboratories for individual B.Tech branches, computer centres and seminar rooms. The library provides digital databases, reference resources and a collection exceeding 44,642 books.

Boys and girls have separate hostel facilities, with charges of up to INR 40,000 per year. Students also have access to a sports ground, cafeteria, medical facility and NCC and NSS units. The college has 3,447 students and 125 faculty members.

Kolhapur is 230 km from Pune, 380 km from Mumbai and 50 km from Sangli, offering access for students from western and southern Maharashtra. DYPCET Kolhapur vs RIT Islampur vs SITCOE Yadrav

Students considering private engineering colleges affiliated with Shivaji University in the Kolhapur and Sangli districts often compare DYPCET Kolhapur, Rajarambapu Institute of Technology in Islampur and Sharad Institute of Technology College of Engineering in Yadrav, Ichalkaranji. Each institution admits students from the same MHT-CET applicant pool.

DYPCET combines a city location with an operating history that began in 1984. RIT Islampur has the higher NAAC A+ grade and attracts CSE applicants scoring in the 95+ percentile range. SITCOE Yadrav is the newest of the three and has lower cutoffs, making it suitable for students within the 60 to 75 percentile band. The three colleges have placement links with the industrial and information technology corridor of western Maharashtra.
