SGU Kolhapur Courses and Fees

Courses at SGU are offered through 8 schools in Engineering, Design, Pharmacy, Management, Law, Commerce, Sciences, and Media Studies. Programme fees extend from INR 1.20 Lakhs for the 3-year LLB to INR 11.10 Lakhs for the 4-year B.Des. B.Tech in CSE or AI-ML costs INR 7.00 Lakhs, while the MBA fee is INR 5.00 Lakhs.

Aeronautical Engineering is one of the B.Tech branches available at SGU. The School of Design delivers four B.Des specialisations and provides project studios connected with industry-based work.

SGU Kolhapur Admission Process

Admission depends on the programme, academic marks, and the accepted entrance test. Engineering and pharmacy applicants may use state or national entrance scores, while several commerce and computer application programmes also allow merit-based selection.

B.Tech Admission

Students seeking B.Tech admission must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in Class 12 and secured at least 45% aggregate. Selection mainly uses MHT-CET or JEE Main scores, while CUET UG is also accepted.

• Stage 1: Obtain a valid MHT-CET 2026 or JEE Main 2026 score.
• Stage 2: Complete the online form at sguk.ac.in.
• Stage 3: Attend document checking, after which the merit list is prepared.
• Stage 4: Confirm the allotted seat and pay the required fee.

The MHT-CET percentile needed can differ widely by engineering branch. CSE specialisations and Aeronautical Engineering generally receive greater demand within the university’s available intake.

MBA Admission

MBA applicants need a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% aggregate. SGU accepts CAT, MAT, CMAT, and MH-CET MBA scores. Shortlisted students attend a Group Discussion and Personal Interview on campus. The final merit list considers the entrance score, GD/PI result, previous academic performance, and the applicant’s overall record.

B.Des Admission

Selection for B.Des uses NID, UCEED, or SGU’s Design Aptitude Test. This test assesses design sketching, spatial reasoning, and visual sensitivity. Applicants from any Class 12 stream are eligible with a minimum of 50%.

Other Programmes

B.Pharm applicants require at least 45% in 10+2 PCB along with MHT-CET or JEE Main. Admission to BBA, BCA, and B.Com may use Class 12 merit or CUET UG. The 3-year LLB requires graduation with at least 45%, while M.Tech applicants need a relevant GATE paper.

SGU Kolhapur Placements

During the 2024 placement cycle, SGU reported that 212 students secured placements across engineering, management, and pharmacy. Engineering graduates received an average CTC of INR 3.20 LPA, compared with INR 4.25 LPA for management graduates.

The university was founded in 2017, and its placement figures are self-reported. These results have not been independently confirmed through NIRF ranking data, so applicants should check the latest record with SGU before deciding on admission.

Campus recruiters include Mphasis, Larsen and Toubro, HDFC Bank, Amazon, Jio, TCS, Wipro, Capgemini, Bosch, and Infosys. SGU also reports placements with the Indian Army and Indian Navy. Pharmacy graduates mainly enter hospital pharmacy positions and pharmaceutical manufacturers based in Maharashtra.

SGU Kolhapur Rankings

SGU was established in 2017 and is not listed in the NIRF rankings. IIRF placed the university in two programme categories in 2025.

The university has submitted NIRF information under the University and Engineering categories. Its other formal quality recognitions include NAAC Grade A, awarded in the first accreditation cycle, and NBA accreditation for engineering programmes.

SGU Kolhapur Campus and Infrastructure

SGU has a contiguous 165-acre campus in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. Academic schools, student housing, and other facilities are located within the same site. The campus, developed for the university founded in 2017, contains academic blocks, engineering laboratories, design studios, and a pharmaceutical research centre.

Students have access to engineering and electronics labs, pharmacy research laboratories, a Design and Innovation Studio, a central library, campus-wide Wi-Fi, and a 500-seat auditorium. Technical and cultural festivals are held each year and attract students from different parts of Maharashtra.

Separate on-campus hostels are provided for male and female students. The annual hostel charge for either hostel is up to INR 57,000. The campus is 15 km from central Kolhapur.

SGU Kolhapur Scholarships

SGU Kolhapur, MIT World Peace University Pune, and DY Patil International University Pune are private universities in Maharashtra with courses across several academic fields. Students considering B.Tech or MBA can compare their fees, accreditation, campus size, location, and main academic strengths.

Among these three universities, SGU has lower B.Tech fees and is the only one offering Aeronautical Engineering. MIT-WPU has the higher NAAC grade and access to Pune’s industry network.
