DFS Delhi Admission FAQs

Ques. What academic background does an MBA applicant need at DFS?

Ans. A recognized university degree following the 10+2+3 pattern, with an aggregate of at least 50%, meets the academic requirement. Mathematics must have been studied in Class XII. Students completing their final undergraduate year can submit an application too.

Ques. How does DFS move from MBA applications to the final merit list?

Ans. Apply through the department's official website. For the interview shortlist, DFS considers CAT results, Class X and XII marks and specified academic backgrounds. After the personal interview, the final merit formula combines these academic and entrance examination components with interview marks. It also assigns extra weight to certain degrees and female applicants.

Ques. Which test result should applicants submit for each programme?

Ans. MBA applicants need CAT scores. For PhD admission, DFS accepts NET/UGC JRF scores and also assesses applicants through a research proposal presentation followed by a personal interview.

Ques. Which applicant groups can claim reserved or additional seats?

Ans. Across its programmes, DFS applies Central Government and University of Delhi reservation rules. These cover SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwBD and Defence (CW) categories. Foreign nationals have supernumerary seats, meaning seats in addition to the regular intake. Applicants claiming reservation must submit the relevant certificates during admission.

Ques. Is admission possible without the required entrance examination result?

Ans. A valid entrance examination score is compulsory for both MBA and PhD admission. Applicants who do not hold the score required for their programme cannot qualify for admission.
