NIMAS Barasat Frequently Asked Questions

Ques. How do students describe the role of entrance tests and qualifying marks in NIMAS admission?

Ans. Student accounts describe most undergraduate and postgraduate admissions as merit-based, with qualifying-examination marks carrying more importance than an entrance test. They generally find the process straightforward. Seniors advise applying early because BCA, BBA, Optometry and Medical Lab Technology attract more applications during the admission season.

Ques. What do students suggest for applicants with average Class 12 marks who want a limited-seat course?

Ans. Students say that satisfying the minimum eligibility conditions is usually sufficient for admission to most programmes. For courses with fewer seats, such as Bachelor of Clinical Optometry or paramedical programmes, applying early improves the chance of securing the preferred course before places are filled.

Ques. What can an applicant learn from a campus visit before accepting admission?

Ans. Seniors generally recommend visiting when possible to assess laboratories, classrooms, hostel arrangements and travel connectivity. Students who visited before joining reported greater confidence in their course choice and a clearer understanding of the campus environment.

Ques. How can applicants prepare their paperwork to avoid delays during admission?

Ans. Seniors recommend arranging academic records, identity proof, photographs, and migration and transfer certificates before starting the process. Leaving these documents until the last moment can delay verification and fee payment. Having them ready helps complete both stages without unnecessary hold-ups.
