Brainware University Courses and Fees

Brainware University offers more than 100 programmes at Diploma, UG, PG, and Doctoral levels. These courses cover Engineering, Health Sciences, Management, Law, Agriculture, and Liberal Arts. The major course groups and total fees for the 2026-27 session are listed below.

Allied health B.Sc programmes such as Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology, Physiotherapy, Optometry, Operation Theatre Technology, and Critical Care Technology have a total fee of INR 3.99 Lakhs each for the complete course.

Brainware University Admission Process

Brainware University mainly uses the Brainware Entrance Test (BET) for admission to most UG and PG programmes. For specific courses, students can also apply through national or state-level exams such as JEE Main, WBJEE, CAT, CLAT, and GATE. These scores are also considered for merit scholarships.

B.Tech Admission

For B.Tech, students must pass 10+2 in the Science stream with at least 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Biology is accepted for Biotechnology.

For B.Tech admission through WBJEE, Brainware University closing ranks usually remain between 30,000 and 60,000 for the General Category. The exact rank changes by specialisation. CSE and AI/ML see higher demand, so these branches close at lower ranks.

Health Sciences Admission (B.Sc Nursing, B.Pharm, GNM, Allied Health)

B.Sc Nursing admission depends on WBJEE JENPAS (UG). Students need 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English, along with at least 45% marks. GNM admission is done through the WBJEE ANM-GNM entrance test.

• B.Pharm: 10+2 PCB/PCM with 45%; WBJEE Pharmacy or BET
• Allied Health B.Sc programmes: 10+2 PCB with 45%; BET
• Age rule for nursing programmes: 17 years on or before 31 December of the admission year

MBA Admission

MBA applicants need a graduation degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks. Brainware University considers CAT, MAT, XAT, and BET scores for shortlisting.

Law and Other UG and PG Programmes

For BA.LLB and BBA.LLB, students need 10+2 with at least 45% marks, and admission is through CLAT or BET. LLB applicants must hold a graduation degree. BBA and BCA admissions are based on CUET or BET, with 10+2 and at least 45% marks as the eligibility requirement. For M.Tech, applicants need B.Tech/BE with 55%, and GATE scores are accepted along with BET. MCA requires graduation with Mathematics either at degree level or at 10+2 level.

Brainware University Placements

Brainware University recorded a 98% placement rate for the 2024-25 batch. The highest offer reached INR 27 LPA. The average package offered was INR 3.78 LPA, while the average package secured was INR 3.12 LPA. B.Tech CSE and AI/ML had the strongest branch results, with average packages between INR 5.80 and 5.97 LPA.

Recruiters in 2024-25 included EY, Wipro, Cognizant, Accenture, TCS, Adobe India, and Cargill from technology and consulting. The health sciences recruiter list included Apollo Hospitals, Fortis Healthcare, Cipla, and Fujifilm India. From BFSI and manufacturing, recruiters included ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, and Berger Paints.

Hospital partnerships support health sciences placements. Apollo Hospitals, Fortis Healthcare, MedPlus, and similar healthcare networks recruit from B.Sc Nursing and allied health batches.

Brainware University Rankings

Brainware University appeared in the NIRF overall category with a rank of 339 in 2025. In the same year, IIRF named it the No. 1 technical private university in West Bengal for the third year in a row.

Brainware University has not received NAAC accreditation yet. Since it was established in 2016, the university is completing the minimum cycle requirement needed for NAAC assessment.

Brainware University Scholarships

Brainware University provides merit-based scholarships and early admission scholarships. Most scholarship categories require a steady academic record of 60% or above in Class 10, Class 12, and the qualifying degree, wherever applicable.

Students eligible for national or state government scholarship schemes, including the Post-Matric Scholarship, get support through the NSP portal. The university scholarship committee handles applications during admission.

Brainware University Campus and Infrastructure

Brainware University has a 9-acre campus on Ramkrishnapur Road, Barasat Kazipara, North 24 Parganas. It is 15 km from central Kolkata through the Barasat-Kolkata corridor. The campus includes dedicated schools for Engineering and Technology, Health Sciences, Management, Law, Agriculture, and Liberal Arts.

On-campus hostel facilities are available for male and female students. The boys' hostel fee goes up to INR 1.30 Lakhs per year. The girls' hostel fee ranges from INR 2.64 to 3.00 Lakhs per year, including boarding and lodging. Students also have access to a medical unit, a library with digital access, and a student activity centre for academic and co-curricular use.

The university has a placement and training cell that helps with internships and pre-placement preparation. For nursing and allied health students, the health sciences block includes simulation labs and a skills training centre designed according to INC and WBNC norms.
