Translational Health Science and Technology Institute is an autonomous institute established under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Gov. of India. The establishment of the institute in 2009 aimed at encouraging biomedical innovations in the field of the public health sector. THSTI offers Doctoral programmes in Biotech (governed by the rules of JNU) and Short-term training programmes for students at the level of Bachelor’s and Master’s which runs for 2 months to 6 months.

The institute offers admissions every year around June through entrance tests such as NTA-NET, CSIR and GATE.

The institute has various centres for research in Bio-Technology which works in collaboration with many international institutes such as Scripps Research Institute US, Weill Cornell Medical College New York and National Institute of Communicable Diseases, Johannesburg.

TSHTI Courses Offered

TSHTI offers courses in various fields of research and short-term training programmes ranging from a minimum of 2 months to a maximum of 6 months depending upon the eligibility of the candidate and prior work criteria in the field of research. THSTI Gurgaon Admissions

The Institute offers admissions to its research programme in June every year. The institute mainly offers PhD in two domains: Biomedical and Clinical Research. Candidates are required to apply through the institute’s official portal. The institute offers admission in two groups: Group A and Group B.

Group A: The candidate must be having a master’s degree in the field of Life sciences, biotechnology, veterinary, pharmacy and engineering in Biotech. The candidate must have scored a minimum of 55%.

or The candidate must be qualified in any of the following exams: NET-JRF, CSIR, ICMR.

Group B: The candidate should be holding a degree OF MBBS/MDS or a B.Tech in Biotechnology with a minimum of 55% or GPA equivalent.

How to apply?

Usually, the forms are out in January and June for admission. The candidates must go to the institute’s website and apply for the courses as per their eligibility. The applying fees for Gen/OBC category is Rs 500 and S/ST category is Rs 250.

After applying, candidates of Group A will have to wait for their shortlisted names. Once they are out candidates of Group A are directly called for an interview for the final selection. Candidates of group B will have to appear for a written test before the interview.

OBC-NCL – 27%
SC – 15%
ST – 7.5%

The Institute also offers short term training courses to external students having Undergraduate and Post Graduate degrees. The candidates should have Bachelors and Masters in related fields. Candidates are needed to apply for the programs through the Institute’s website.

THSTI Gurgaon Selection process

Applications for short term training programs are entertained throughout the year. Students are required to email their updated resume to the Supervisor of their area of interest. The candidates are also required to submit a letter of recommendation signed by their Head of Departments/Head of the institute of their passing institute.

The institute provides students with various internship offers to their students as well as opportunities to work under various renowned figures in their respective fields. The college has a placement cell that governs the internships of students with various medical companies and top educational medical institutes.

Hostel facilities: The campus provides hostel accommodations for both boys and girl. The living blocks are quite neat and comprises a basketball court and have other sports facilities as well.

Canteen: The institute also has a large canteen where students can have food apart from hostel-mess.
