THSTI Haryana Course Details

Transitional Health Science and Technology Institute Ph.D. Admissions:

• THSTI offers 3 year full time on campus Doctoral/ M.Phil. Ph.D. degree in fields of –
  • Infection& Immunology
  • Maternal and Child Health
  • Non- Communicable Diseases
  • Multidisciplinary Clinical& Transitional Research
• Admissions to Ph.D programme is governed by Jawaharlal Nehru University.
• Students selected for the program are required to undergo PhD Coursework followed by completion of research ending with submission of a thesis dissertation.

Eligibility Criterion

Group A-

• A candidate should be Indian Citizen with age 28 or above.
• Master’s Degree in relevant field of study – Biomedical/Life Sciences (Veterinary science, Pharmaceutical Science, Public health), Bioinformatics, B.Tech- Biotechnology with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognized institute.
• Qualification in JRF exam of CSIR, UGC, ICMR, DBT or NBHM.
• MBBS/MD/MDS/MPH or B.E./BTech or B. Pharma from a recognized university with 55% marks or equivalent.
• ICMR, CSIR – SRF fellowship.
• Candidate having AYUSH- NET fellowships also eligible to apply, such candidate conduct research in field related to AYUSH only.

Group B-

• MBBS, MDS, MPH with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognized institute.
• A candidate should have BE/ B.Tech degree in- Computer science/ Biotechnology, Biomedical engineering/ Mechanical/ Electronics/ Electrical Engineering.
• B.Pharma or PG in Life Sciences
• Pharmacy, Medicinal chemistry, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics or Bioinformatics with minimum 55% marks from a recognized institute.

Selection Criterion

• A candidate must have qualified the JRF examination of CSIR, UGC, ICMR, DBT or NBHM.
• A candidates selected in group A category is directly called for the Personal Interview conducted by the institute.
• The candidate selected for the group B category will have to appear in a written test conducted by THSTI, the qualifying candidate in the written round are shortlisted for the Personal Interview.
• Selection procedure is based on the qualifying examination.

How to apply for THSTI Ph.D programme?

• Candidates wiling to apply for admissions to Ph.D. programme can fill the form online at the official website of the institute.
• A candidate must first register with the institute and precisely fill up the application form in desired thematic area.
• Submit the application along with required documentations attached.
• Lastly, pay the aplplication fee i.e. INR 500/- General/OBC, INR 250/- SC/ST/Female/Differently abled candidates.

Upon successful completion of the program and upon evaluation by the academic committee, THSTI grans a training completion certificate to the students to fulfill their degree requirements.

Eligibility

• A student must have Bachelor’s degree (engineering, medical, pharmacy, veterinary, agriculture and life sciences) are eligible if they have similar degree requirements and if there are supervisors willing to host them at the Institute.
• The student should have a valid degree from UGC-recognized publicly-funded university/college or from an UGC-recognized private University/College/Institute.
• The program will accept qualified Master’s (/life sciences, biotechnology, veterinary, pharmacy and engineering) level students seeking to fulfill their degree requirement of completing their final year research project, thesis or dissertation.

Selection Criterion

• Students are selected on the basis of their past qualifying examination merit scores.

How to apply for Short Term Training Course?

• Applications for admission to STT courses are accepted throughout the year.
• Students are required to apply directly (via email) to a supervisor of their interest at THSTI with an updated resume.
• Students shall submit a recommendation letter from Head of the Department/Head of the Institute from their college/university/institute indicating the requirement of training as necessary for completion of degree.
• This application further has to be transferred to the Director/ Supervisor/ office at THSTI.
