B.FTech or Bachelor of Fashion Technology is a course that involves a combination of Creative ideas with technology. Fashion industry has four levels: Raw Material (Textile) Production, Fashion good production by designers, Sales in the retail market and advertisement.

Fashion Technology deals with the study and understanding of technology involved in the successful implementation of all the four levels of the Fashion Industry.

For being eligible for B.FTech, most of the colleges ask for the student to have completed his/her 12th Class (10+2). Colleges also ask for particular subjects like, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 12th class. Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B.Ftech) is a 4 year course with 2 semesters in every year, making it a total of 8 semesters.

The fees depend upon the college that is selected by the candidate. Fees start from 30k-40k to lakhs depending upon the college. Internships are also an important part of understanding the industry mechanism.

After doing B.FTech, students can either seek jobs in the industry or can also choose to do masters in the same specification. Like any other field, more qualified candidates are preferred for better jobs. So getting better and degrees and internships are important. There are several job profiles that are available in the Fashion industry involving Analysis, Management and Merchandising. The B.FTech graduate gets the packages starting from 1.5-2 lakhs per annum depending upon the job profile and the company or employer.

About B.Ftech

B.FTech is a 4 year graduation degree that helps in the understanding of the vast Fashion industry and its working. Also, it helps the candidate to be a part of this prestigious industry. Receiving a Bachelor in Fashion is very beneficial. The Fashion industry is very diversified and competitive. One can attain skills that are important for being an asset to designers, magazines, and celebrities. B.FTech Admission Process

The admission process involves two parts, first is being eligible for the course and second is getting the admission after being eligible for the course. To be eligible for B.FTech, most of the colleges ask for the student to have completed his/her 12th Class (10+2) with particular subjects like, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the 12th class. Then there are admissions. These can be of two types, either by entrance examinations which are arranged by the college administration, and the second procedure is merit based. The marks obtained in the 12th class are the bases of admission in the merit based admissions.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The aspirant looking to apply for this course should have passed 12th class in 10+2 pattern with the minimum required marks.
  • Some colleges have a criterion of selecting aspirants, only those who had Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) as their subjects in their 12th class in 10+2 pattern.

B.FTech Distance Education

B.FTech does not have very reliable colleges to study online or remotely. Distance education is also available in this Fashion and Technology field but by only very few reliable colleges.
