JEE Main College Predictor: Number of Seats Available Through JEE Main

Every year, JoSAA posts the number of seats available in NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs on the official website. In NITs, a total of 24525 seats are available for admission to various engineering programs. However, in IIITs and GFTIs, the total number of seats available is 9940 and 10228, respectively.

Admission to IITs is based on candidates' JEE Advanced scores. Total number of seats available in IITs for engineering admissions is 18160.

JEE Main Marks vs Rank vs Percentile

JEE Main rank and percentile depend on the number of candidates. NTA converts JEE Main marks of candidates into percentile scores by applying the normalization process. Based on the normalized scores, candidates are assigned JEE Main ranks in the common rank list.

  • Candidates scoring 291 to 300 marks are likely to get around 1 to 15 rank.
  • If you score 290 to 281 marks in JEE Main, you are likely to get a rank of around 16-36. For a rank below 100 in JEE Main, you must score more than 271 marks in JEE Main.
  • For JEE Main rank below 1200, you must score JEE Main marks of around 220.
