Today, people all around India, including at Manipal Academy of Higher Education in Bengaluru, participated in a 3-kilometer promotional run.

The 3K marketing run was arranged by the Manipal Academy of Higher Education in Bengaluru and its other campuses across India in anticipation of next month's huge Manipal Marathon.

"Early Detection saves lives - I Can Cer-Vive" is this year's theme for the Manipal Marathon. The programme is a major contribution to the ongoing battle against childhood cancer.

On Sunday, the Deputy Registrar of MAHE in Bengaluru, Dr. Raghavendra Prabhu P, kicked off a 3K race through the campus in the city. Almost fifty or sixty people took part in the event.

The Manipal Marathon is an annual event put on by the Rotary Club of Manipal and the University of Manipal on the university's Manipal campus on the 12th of February. If the goal of Rs 60 lakhs is reached, the funds will be utilised to support financially disadvantaged children who have been diagnosed with cancer and to fund further cancer research.

Soon after, on February 4, 2023, people all around will commemorate World Cancer Day. As an annual celebration, the day is observed on February 4 all across the globe. This day is an effort by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) to educate the public about cancer and its risks, as well as the best techniques to identify and treat it.

World Cancer Day also serves as a call to action for individuals, organisations, and governments to collaborate in reducing healthcare inequalities and removing barriers to treatment.
