What's New In MET 2025?
MAHE has opened the 2027 admission portal. BTech applicants can use MET 2027 or JEE Main 2027, depending on the route they choose. MAHE has not yet posted the detailed MET 2027 exam dates or the new BTech paper pattern.
The official application page lists a general application fee of Rs. 800 and an entrance-test fee of Rs. 1,200 for courses that use an entrance test. The exact deadline and test schedule will appear on the official admission pages.

MAHE is accepting 2027 applications through its admission portal. The MAHE entrance-exam page still shows the detailed MET information for 2026, so the 2027 test dates, slot-booking dates and paper rules are not yet available.

MET 2027 Overview
Manipal Entrance Test, or MET, is used for admission to several MAHE courses. The paper changes with the course. A BTech applicant does not take the same paper as every other MET applicant.

One course can have two admission routesFor BTech, the MET route uses a MET-based merit list. The JEE Main route uses the Common Rank List. A student must apply for the route that matches the score being used.
BTech Admission Through MET and JEE Main
The current MAHE BTech programme page lists two routes for 2027. Under the MET route, the merit list gives 50% weight to the MET score and 50% to Class 12 marks in Physics, Mathematics, one accepted optional subject and English.
The JEE Main route uses the 2027 Common Rank List. MAHE says 20% of general-category seats are kept for this route and allots them in one counselling round. MET and JEE Main ranks are different, so their cutoffs cannot be mixed.

MET 2027 BTech Eligibility
For the current BTech admission route, Indian-board students need Class 12 or an equivalent exam with Physics, Mathematics and English. The fourth subject can be Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology or an accepted technical vocational subject. The required aggregate is at least 50%.

The course page also gives separate conditions for A Level and International Baccalaureate students. Those students should use the rule for their own school board instead of applying the Indian-board subject wording to themselves.
MET 2027 Application Form and Fees
The 2027 MAHE application portal is open. Applicants create an account, enter personal and education details, choose the course, upload the required files and pay online. The form is complete only after payment is recorded.

MET BTech Exam Pattern
MAHE has not posted a new BTech pattern for 2027. The latest detailed paper had 60 questions for 240 marks and lasted 120 minutes. It included Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English. The complete subject split is available on the MET exam pattern page.

A correct answer gave four marks. A wrong MCQ lost one mark, while a wrong numerical answer had no negative mark. These details belong to the 2026 paper and can change for 2027.
MET Rank and Counselling
The test score and the counselling rank are not the same number. MAHE prepares the merit list and then uses the rank during choice filling and seat allotment. Each choice combines a campus and a branch.
In 2026, counselling included registration, a refundable waitlist deposit, saved choices, seat allotment and payment within the deadline. MAHE has not posted the 2027 counselling schedule and fees. The official 2026 counselling brochure explains last year's process.
MET Cutoff
A MET cutoff is the closing rank for a branch, campus and counselling round. A smaller rank number is better. It is not a fixed passing mark for the whole university.
