MET Cutoff 2027: Which Rank Should You Compare?

MET 2027 closing ranks will depend on its counselling allotments. For planning, the latest completed reference is the 2026 Round 5 BTech common counselling cutoff. The rank belongs to an institute-and-branch combination, not to the university as a whole.

A smaller rank number is better. For example, rank 4,800 is ahead of a closing rank of 5,044. Rank 6,000 is behind it. This comparison describes the historical allotment range; a seat also depends on registration, eligibility, choices, vacancies and payment.

Do not compare a raw MET score with these numbers. The MET exam pattern explains the paper and marking, while the cutoff table uses the admission rank. JEE Main-based counselling has a separate rank list.

MET CSE Cutoff Across Campuses

The same Computer Science and Engineering course name can have very different closing ranks across institutions. These are the ordinary BTech CSE entries, not dual-degree options.

MIT Manipal and MIT Bengaluru are constituent institutions of MAHE. Manipal University Jaipur and Sikkim Manipal University are separate universities. MAHE Dubai also appeared in the 2026 common counselling table; its fees and study location are different from the Indian institutions.

MIT Manipal Cutoff 2026

Mathematics and Computing closed at 4,255, ahead of CSE at 5,044 in this round. Computer Science and Financial Technology and Electronics and Communication Engineering closed at 5,173 and 5,299 respectively. These are distinct programmes, not alternative names for CSE.

For a shortlist centred on MIT Manipal, compare the actual branch curriculum as well as the closing rank. A preference for the Manipal location does not make every listed branch interchangeable.

MIT Bengaluru Cutoff 2026

CSE, Mathematics and Computing, and Computer Science and Financial Technology closed within a narrow range of 12,890 to 13,049. That closeness does not mean their subjects are identical. Keep them as separate institute-and-branch choices.

Manipal University Jaipur Cutoff 2026

At Jaipur, the CSE closing rank was 38,794, while Electronics Engineering with VLSI Design and Technology closed at 41,189. The table separates these from Computer Science and Bioscience and Robotics and Artificial Intelligence.

Compare the programmes offered by Manipal University Jaipur's Faculty of Engineering before choosing between similarly named computing and electronics branches.

SMIT Sikkim Cutoff 2026

All six entries shown for Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology carry the unchanged-rank marker in the Round 5 document. This does not mean there was no allotment activity: the footnote says the available vacancies were filled without changing the closing rank.

Dual-Degree Cutoffs Are Separate Choices

A dual-degree route should not be treated as a cheaper or simpler way into the ordinary BTech course. The study location, overseas transfer and fees can differ substantially. Selected 2026 Round 5 entries are:

The published Monash CSE entry is 17,809.01; it should not be rounded into a different official value. For the listed Macquarie Civil and Deakin Mechanical routes, the 2026 counselling conditions required the first two years at MIT Manipal followed by transfer abroad for years three and four. Continuing those final two years at MIT Manipal was not an option.

The 2026 rules also excluded dual-degree students from the intra-institute round. Compare the full route and overseas costs before placing a dual-degree preference above an ordinary BTech seat.

What Could Different MET Ranks Mean for a Shortlist?

These examples show how to read a rank, not which seat a 2027 candidate will receive. Build preferences in the order you actually want them. Putting a less-preferred branch first just because its past cutoff looks easier can lead to an allotment you did not intend.

Eligibility and Seat Acceptance After the Cutoff

The 2026 common counselling rules required a MET rank and a recognised Class 12 or equivalent qualification with Physics, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects. Candidates needed at least 50% aggregate in Physics, Mathematics and an accepted optional subject, with the board's minimum pass marks in each of those three subjects. The optional subject had to fall within the specified Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical or Mechanical domains.

Candidates with a foreign or international senior-secondary qualification also needed an AIU equivalence certificate. A rank within a past cutoff could not override failed subjects or an unmet aggregate requirement.

1. Register for counselling and pay the applicable waitlist deposit. The 2026 deposit was INR 10,000.
2. Save the institute-and-branch preferences in the order you want them. Unsaved choices were not recorded.
3. Check the allotment in the counselling login. In 2026, the first programme-fee instalment was INR 2,90,000, followed by the balance shown for the programme.
4. Download the provisional admission order and complete the required reporting.

The INR 2,90,000 instalment was not the total BTech fee. Missing its payment deadline in 2026 meant losing the allotted seat and the waitlist deposit. On timely fee payment, the deposit became the refundable caution deposit included in the programme fee.

MET Rank and JEE Main Rank: Do Not Mix the Cutoffs

The 2026 counselling portal published separate documents for MET-rank and JEE Main-rank admissions. A number from the MET Round 5 table must therefore be compared with your MET rank, not your JEE Main Common Rank List position.

The MET table shown here does not divide the ranks into SC, ST, OBC or other category columns. Adding category labels or a category-wise reduction to these published values would change their meaning. Use the actual route and eligibility rules attached to the seat you are considering.
