Bangalore, 21st September 2023: In its persisting commitment towards fostering internal health mindfulness, Udyam, the Commercial Social Responsibility Committee of SVKM’s NMIMS Bangalore, recently organised a Walkathon. The theme of the walkathon was ‘ Walk for a Beget Mental Health Awareness ’ for its Academy of Business Management (SBM) scholars.

The Walkathon began with scholars assembling at the Royal Meenakshi Mall. The trip concluded at Windsor Amulyam. The 5 Km trip was replete with scholars expressing themselves through taglines and banners demonstrating the central theme of the event. The enthusiasm and energy situations among the actors were a sight to behold. further than 150 scholars shared in the walkathon, making it a success. 

In order to produce mindfulness about internal health amongst the general public, an inspirational' Nukkad Natak' or a road play was performed following the walk. The performance was divided into three parts. Each of the three acts covered distinct motifs with the focus of making people realise the positive results of sound internal health. It was demonstrated by recreating real-life scripts faced by the youth. The performance concluded with the communication of dealing with the hard times and arising victorious.

Professor Janaki Anant, the faculty tutor at Udyam, was the guiding light of the scholars throughout the event. She created a safe space for scholars and asked them to partake in their own stories of battling internal health. Each story handed deep perceptivity into the tough times faced by scholars and how they embraced reality and surfaced out of it successfully. The exercise comforted scholars that they weren't alone in their MBA trip at NMIMS SBM. 

The walkathon redounded three crucial literacy. originally, how the internal and external pressures we make within us sow seeds of internal torture and the unwanted way we end up taking regarding our lives. Secondly, how failure leads to tone- mistrustfulness, pain and anguish. This further contributes to unhealthy behavioural patterns and cultures. Incipiently, seeking the right help and support can actually help us to release and overcome the burden of the unaddressed trauma within. 

The success of the walkathon was a result of Udyam’s commitment towards adding public mindfulness about internal health. The commission is aimed at contributing to making the world more habitable and indifferent. It's also a testament to the changing times and the NMIMS ’ commitment towards creating healthier premises. 

Delivering the success of the event, Dr. Narayani Ramachandran, Deputy Director, NMIMS Bangalore, said, “ The success of the walkathon on internal mindfulness exemplifies the positive change we are witnessing, which calls for a terrain conducive to growth and happiness. The event reflects NMIMS Bangalore’s commitment to shaping a better society, where we duck the smirch around health issues. Rather, we must together produce a place where internal good is prioritised and positivity is encouraged." 

Miss Gitanjana, the Counsellor at NMIMS Bangalore, invested a sense of sanguinity and positive energy through her words. Stressing the significance of seeking help and prostrating rigors when the going gets tough, she participated, “ In the face of adversity, it's important to embrace the strength in seeking help and supporting one another. Let's aim to foster a community where seeking remedy is seen as a valorous step towards particular growth."
