Bengaluru, 18th July, 2023: Bannerghatta campus in Bangalore of NMIMS Bengaluru School of Economics has conducted a unique inauguration program namely Deeksharambh for B.Sc Economics students. Chosen students of the 2023-2026 batch are going to start their educational expeditions. Student's enrollment in the B.Sc Economics program in academic year 2023-24 is notable surge as compared to the previous year, 2022-23

The university offers a meticulously designed B.Sc Economics program to provide students with a robust foundation in economics and empower them with the essential knowledge and skills required to thrive in this ever-changing field. The aim of this program is to encourage the student's analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of economic principles

During the inauguration ceremony, the esteemed chief guest was Mr. Vivek V Nayak, a highly accomplished senior supply chain management professional with an impressive sixteen years of experience in all facets of the supply chain industry. Presently holding the position of Associate Director at Biocon Limited, Bangalore, Mr. Nayak graced the event with his extensive industry knowledge and expertise. During his speech, he conveyed, "Having the privilege to be a part of the inauguration ceremony at NMIMS Bengaluru and addressing the enthusiastic batch of B.Sc Economics students was indeed an honor. I firmly believe that this program will furnish them with the essential skills and knowledge to excel in the realm of economics. Witnessing such a vibrant and devoted academic community dedicated to nurturing the future leaders of tomorrow is truly inspiring."

Students participated in an engaging orientation program after the inauguration ceremony and the aim of the program was to acquaint them with the university, its abundant resources, and the comprehensive B.Sc Economics program

The orientation program featured several significant sessions, among which were a Campus Tour & Treasure Hunt. During this exciting activity, students had the chance to explore the campus while engaging in a fun-filled treasure hunt. This interactive experience aimed to familiarize them with the university's facilities and surroundings in an enjoyable way. Another important session was led by International Education Specialists from IDP, who provided valuable insights into the diverse international opportunities and collaborations available in the field of economics

In the session titled "Deciphering the Ordinary Business of Life: Economics and its Myriad Enquiries," Professors Tanaya Majumder, Anand Prakash, Indu Sukumar, and Dr. Prerona Baruah took the stage and delivered a collective effort aimed to unravel the multifaceted dimensions of economics and its significance in our daily lives.

The counselor,Ms. Gitanjana Paul Choudhury orchestrated an enthralling session, thoughtfully curated to provide comprehensive guidance and support to the students. This well-structured session covered crucial aspects of academic excellence and personal well-being, ensuring a holistic approach to their growth and development. Additionally, a special interaction session was organized, encouraging students to connect with their fellow peers within the B.Sc Economics program

Sessions such as academic administration, examinations, library and databases, placements, and international linkages were organized as an orientation program. these sessions were carefully designed with the purpose of providing students with the essential information and resources required to navigate their academic journey successfully.

Additionally, the students were treated to a virtual meet-up session with an esteemed alumnus of the School of Economics, Mr. Vidhit Arora, who graduated from the 2019 - 22 batch. During this insightful session, Mr. Arora graciously shared his valuable experiences and memories from his student days on campus
