Navi Mumbai, March 2024 – The sprawling NMIMS Navi Mumbai campus held their annual inter-college festival Tvaran 2024 which spanned three days between 7th to 9th March 2024. The festival was a resounding success with more than three thousand in attendance bringing together an amalgamation of inquisitive minds from premier institutions across Mumbai and renowned figures from the corporate sector. The event was also graced by the presence of celebrities like Karan Kanchan, Yashraj and Parth Srivastava.

The theme for this event was ‘Rekindling Astraia: A Phoenix’s Tale’, devised by the talented Cultural Committee of NMIMS Navi Mumbai. The theme tells the tale of a time traveller, who is the central character, stepping into a desolate future where he lays foundation for a quest out of the ordinary. It is the narration of Present (communicating resilience, restoration of lost values), Past (communicating inspiration) and Future (communicating feelings of desolation) of a mythical place called Astraia which sheds light on importance of actions and consequences that follow.

The event offered various inclusive activities for its participants including Dance, Music, Drama, Cooking, Finance, Sports, Robot Wars, etc. which accounted for a mighty festival spirit among the attendees as everyone felt welcomed. These activities were well curated and planned by the Cultural Committee of NMIMS Navi Mumbai which catered to all kinds of participants and were exciting for one and all. For instance, finance events like Investment Fortress and Rebuilding Astraia were organised to indulge the entrepreneurial participants.

The event also fostered healthy competition via the various activities it held, and the excitement was at its peak while the participants tried to gain first place. Tvaran 2024 also had activities dedicated to the field of Fine Arts such as Gourmet Mastermind, Logo Luminary, Paint Quest, and Rise of the Phoenix. Other popular activities at this festival included Rocket League, NMIMS Grand PRIX, Tvaran Olympix, the Ultimate Football Auction and FIFA Tournament, and Musical Marriage.

Dr. Shubhasheesh Bhattacharya, Director of NMIMS, Navi Mumbai said, “Tvaran 2024 was not just a cultural festival but an amalgamation of inspiration, education and collaboration. It was aimed at encouraging creativity and promoting a sense of togetherness. We wanted to create an inclusive environment where participants from different fields could find something of their interest.” He further added, “As per the inspiring theme of Tvaran 2024, I would like to say, let’s always strive to rekindle hope, unite under shared values and rise from the ashes to create a harmonious and prosperous future.”

Cultural Committee Head, Dr. Ruchita Verma, while discussing about the festival said, “College fests are an integral part of campus life and help create a sense of camaraderie among students while also providing them with a well-deserved break from their regular academic activities. They rejuvenate the minds of the students, reducing stress and helping them to make a fresh beginning. The vibes during the preparation of the fest at our campus were palpable, to say the least, pulsating with energy and positive vibes. These fests go beyond entertainment value and play a big role in making the campus culture more inclusive and diverse.”
