Computer Engineering and Electronics and Computer Science have the highest full-course fee at INR 14 Lakhs each for 4 years. Across all five M.Tech specialisations, the total 2-year fee is the same at INR 1.50 Lakhs.

Pillai College of Engineering Admission Process

Pillai College of Engineering admissions for 2026-27 follow a direct admission model. The college has moved out of the Maharashtra DTE MHT-CET CAP process, so students must contact the PCE campus or apply through the Pillai University admission portal. For B.Tech, PCE may consider JEE Main scores, MHT-CET scores, or Class 12 merit under its own merit rules.

B.Tech Admission

For B.Tech admission, students need 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognised board. They must have at least 45% in PCM. MHT-CET and JEE Main scores may help in PCE merit ranking, but admission is no longer done through DTE Maharashtra centralised allotment rounds.

M.Tech Admission

For M.Tech admission, applicants need a B.E. or B.Tech degree in a related field with at least 55%. A valid GATE score is preferred and can also make a student eligible for a GATE scholarship. Students without GATE may be assessed through an institute-level entrance test or interview.

Ph.D Admission

PCE offers Ph.D admission to students with an M.Tech degree in the relevant discipline and at least 55%. Selection is through the PCE Research Entrance Test. The available research areas are Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.

Pillai College of Engineering Placements

In the NIRF-submitted placement data for 2023-24, 425 students were placed from 673 graduating UG students. The median package was INR 4.4 LPA. Placement numbers improved across three straight academic cycles.

PCE placements are led mainly by core IT service companies. Confirmed recruiters across placement seasons include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, Hexaware, Cognizant, LTI Mindtree, IBM, and Reliance Jio. In one placement cycle, Zomato offered a 10 LPA package to selected graduates. Computer Engineering and E&TC record the highest offer volumes, while Automobile and Mechanical Engineering students usually use both campus and off-campus routes in manufacturing and automotive sectors.

Pillai College of Engineering Campus and Infrastructure

Pillai College of Engineering functions from Plot No. 10, Sector 16, New Panvel, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. Panvel railway station is within 2 km of the campus and connects students to the Central and Harbour railway lines. The campus location also gives access to the Panvel MIDC industrial area, where manufacturing, IT and logistics companies operate.

The college has branch-specific laboratories for computer science, electronics, mechanical engineering and automobile engineering. It also has engineering workshops, a central library, seminar hall, conference rooms, and student activity areas. PCE has ISO 9001:2015 certification for its operational systems. In 2023-24, the college spent INR 20 Lakhs on new lab equipment and software.

Separate hostel facilities are available for boys and girls. Hostel fees go up to INR 1,00,000 per year. The Training and Placement Cell has a dedicated space for recruitment drives and pre-placement training.

Pillai College of Engineering vs FRCRCE vs K.J. Somaiya College of Engineering

Students comparing private autonomous engineering colleges in the Mumbai region often look at Pillai College of Engineering, Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues College of Engineering (FRCRCE) at Bandra West, and K.J. Somaiya College of Engineering (KJSCE) at Vidyavihar. Each of these colleges is autonomous, affiliated with the University of Mumbai, and holds NAAC and NBA accreditations.

FRCRCE and KJSCE are part of MHT-CET CAP rounds for 2026-27, so students with state ranks can use centralised counselling for those colleges. PCE is different because it follows direct admission, which means applicants need to apply more actively to the college. PCE and FRCRCE both have NAAC A+ grades. KJSCE has 720 UG seats, a wider set of branches, and a stronger corporate network in central Mumbai.
