During his visit to the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) on 28th April 2023, Shri Hemant Soren, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Jharkhand, said, “I learned a lot from it.” In his address to students at KISS, he praised Dr Achyuta Samanta, the Founder of KIIT & KISS, for setting up such an extraordinary institution. “No government can create such a huge institution”, he noted.

A similar institution could positively impact tribal communities in Jharkhand, according to Shri Soren. In Jharkhand, there is no institute like KISS, which would solve the Naxal problem and many other problems of tribals, he said.

“The KISS program has given me food for thought. KISS and Dr. Samanta will help us to involve tribal communities in the development process. Jharkhand's education sector will also adopt the KISS atmosphere and operation like KISS in the educational institutes of Jharkhand. According to Shri Soren, KISS has demonstrated remarkable enthusiasm, passion, and atmosphere among children, and we will provide all support to them.

His advice to students was to use the platform to achieve their goals with determination and hard work. A month's salary was donated by Shri Soren to KISS on this occasion. She is his wife, Smt. The sheer number of students at KISS astonished Kalpana Murmu Soren. She told students that under the guidance of KISS founder Dr Achyuta Samanta and the teachers, they can definitely succeed. She advised students to always maintain confidence in life.

In his remarks on the occasion, Shri Sukhdev Singh, Chief Secretary of Jharkhand, said that KISS is not merely an institution, but rather an empire. Without God's blessings this type of institution is really difficult to be created. By the grace of God, Dr Achyuta Samanta has established a massive institute like KISS and he was very hopeful in his speech that definitely an institute like KISS will be established in Jharkhand. In the start of the ceremony welcome speech delivered by Dr. Achyuta Samanta. Vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Deepak Behera, VC, KISS Deemed University. In the ceremony there were many guests present like Shri Vinay Choubey, Secretary to CM, Jharkhand; and Shri Sunil Kumar Srivastava, CM’s Private Secretary.
