Ravenshaw University has more than 100 programmes at UG, PG, management, journalism, and research levels. Most 3-year UG courses cost below INR 2.50 lakhs, and most 2-year PG courses cost below INR 1.10 lakhs.

Ravenshaw University Admission Process

Ravenshaw University admission is based on merit for UG courses, CPET for many PG courses, OJEE for MBA, and university-level tests with interviews for M.Phil and PhD. Students must apply through the required admission route for their course.

UG Programmes (BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, BJMC)

For UG courses, Ravenshaw University prepares merit lists using Plus 2 or Class 12 marks in the relevant stream. Students apply directly through the university admission portal during the admission window.

• Minimum marks: 45% aggregate for General category students and 40% for reserved categories in most programmes
• Selection: Merit list prepared from Class 12 subject-specific marks

Ravenshaw University is a state government institution, so Odisha-resident students get domicile preference in general category seats.

PG Programmes (MA, M.Sc, M.Com, MCA)

Most PG admissions are through CPET, the Combined Postgraduate Entrance Test held by the Odisha State Higher Education Council. Applicants need a related undergraduate degree with the required marks. MCA applicants must also have Mathematics as one of the qualifying papers at UG level.

MBA

MBA applicants need a valid OJEE score. A bachelor degree in any discipline with at least 50% aggregate is required. OJEE-qualified students get seats according to rank and preference, followed by document checking and fee payment.

Ravenshaw University Placements

Ravenshaw University has a placement cell that brings recruiters from IT services, management consulting, banking, and media. As per NIRF 2026 data, the median package is INR 6.89 LPA for UG 3-year programmes and INR 4.56 LPA for PG 2-year programmes. These numbers come from the university self-reported NIRF submission.

Ravenshaw University Rankings

Ravenshaw University has a strong profile among government universities because of its NAAC A++ grade and NIRF presence. The NAAC A++ grade with a CGPA of 3.58 was awarded in November 2023, making it the first and only public university in Odisha with this grade.

In the NAAC assessment, the university scored 3.85 on a 4-point scale for infrastructure and 3.73 for curricular aspects. These scores show its focus on facilities and academic quality during its 155-year history.

Ravenshaw University Scholarships

Students at Ravenshaw University can apply for Odisha state government and central government scholarship schemes. SC/ST and OBC students get benefits such as full fee waivers under Odisha government post-matric scholarship rules.

M.Phil and PhD students who qualify GATE may also receive UGC/CSIR research fellowships in eligible subjects. For central scheme scholarships, the university asks students to apply through the National Scholarship Portal.

Ravenshaw University Campus and Infrastructure

Ravenshaw University is in Cuttack, the historical capital of Odisha, and is one of the city main higher education institutions.
