A detailed review on SICM
Likes
- Library is very big available with all kinds of books, newsletters, journals and magazines.
- Classrooms are equipped with smartboards and also very well teaching faculty.
Dislikes
- Campus is very small, almost nothing at all and also the canteen is not good.
- Washroom is overcrowded during breaks since there is only one washroom for the whole college.
Remarks :
For me, I chose this college for completing my bachelors because it was quite near and close to my home not too far and ease of transportation was available. I used to go in bus to the college. So the buses were easily available to my college route. For admission there was no some other kind of exam or some special criteria, we just had to be a pass out from a puc college. And there was no written tests or something.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum which I had opted was quite easy for me, and the quality of the teaching faculty was also very good, they were available anytime to teach the students at free time also, our campus is quite very small, it's just a two floor college and so everything is enclosed in an area and so teachers were always available for the students to help. About the exams, the semester exams were held every three months, but there were two internal tests held by the college before the sem exam.
Internships Opportunities :
I had opted for internship in my final year, but it was not provided by college, I had to find it myself through my father, I worked in a CA firm and I had a good experience of learning. There werent any specific projects to work on but there was a lot of work to be done.
Placement Experience :
There are placements provided by our college but I haven't applied for it, since I had to take up higher studies, but many of my friends applied for placements and got placed in many companies. I am not aware of the highest package, but the average package you get there is around 2.5 to 3 lakh per annum. More than 75% of the students who apply for placements get placed.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The year wise fees I paid was Rs. 55,000 per year. This includes everything. There was government scholarship available from NSP and SSP but no scholarship provided by college. But as per their PUC percentage their fees was reduced like if they had 90% and above their fees was reduced only in the first year.
Campus Life :
Our college campus is quite small, since it's just a two floor college. But still they do conduct all the fests, activities, competitions, etc. They conduct fest every once in a year called as "Samsrushti", where many college's students all over bangalore take part. There is also a sports department in our college which conducts sports competitions like inter class Or inter college competitions. And every year they also conduct a sports event called " Annual sports meet" Where they do it in a large ground, where they conduct sports competitions for both students and teachers. Apart from this, there are social clubs called as NCC, NSS and YRC, and it is compulsory for the students to take part in any one of the group throughout the course.

For our degree program we have well placement opportunities other than bsc agriculture and btech biotechnology. For our college only company will come like itc,shula wine, Nestle etc and they offer good package minimum around 4lakh and some have aptitude test and interview some direct interview

There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students

The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.

The criteria is the cgpa should be above 7 and the companies visited are wipro, flipkart, amazon etc. the highest package is 48 lakh per annum and lowest pacuis 3 lakh per annum and the average is 6 lakh per annum

The placement of the college is excellent in the cse stream it has an average package of 9 lakh per annum and highest package of 38 lakh per annum it is a good salary or package for an engineer so it is good placement

Course Curriculum Overview :
Faculties are well qualified and some of them are doing active research. However the college does not have a very active research environment but they do not hinder a student from taking up projects outside. They provide all support like recommendations, attendance permissions etc.

All the faculties are well qualified and quite renowned in their research fields. However some of them have this quality of holding personal grudge and targeting. Some assume you know a lot and don't teach properly and expect more from the student. There is a lot of pressure even with internals, assignments and other things.

Placement Experience :
For placement, The student shouldnt have any backlogs. There are companies that are stated as "Great Places to Work" as well as some startups that come for college recruitment. The highest package last year (2023) was 6000000, and the average package of the university is approximately 850000. A good percentage of people who opt for placements do get placed decntly. My plans after my BBA are writing GMAT and going for my MBA abroad in a good college.
