College life ( Once in a lifetime)

- Teachers are very friendly and has a caring attitude towards the children.
- Library is really good compared to other parts of the college which provide a good atmosphere to read and refer.
Dislikes
- Classrooms in the old should be more furnished.
- Placement cell should be more strengthened.
Remarks :
I choosed the college since it was not that long from my native place and it is in the same district. The course I have choosen is available only in the self financing colleges or the course is self financing itself within the district. So wherever it is it was same for me since every colleges come under the same university. Admission procedures were not that tough. If you get the allotment thorugh the university portal you can go to the college on the specified date and take admission. There wasn't any exams since it was a ug course. Allotment is through the university portal completely based on 12th mark and other reservations. A meeting with the principal or vice principal is happened during the admission time, which cannot be considered as a formal interview. After that a meeting is conducted with the department hod and class teacher too. My college is not that amazing but it's above average in terms of academics. Faculty is great and environment is good for students.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I choose BCA because it field was evolving day by day and it is best to get a job in that field. Faculty in my college are well qualified and are selected based on exams and interviews. Teachers in my department have post-graduation and B-Ed qualification and some have PhD and doctorate as well. Teaching method especially in ny department is strict. It means academics has the top priority. Basically it is theory based sessions. Notes are seperately provided by the teachers other than those given from the classes. Practicals are given in the laboratory. Exams are conducted in timely basis normally an internal assessment and an external. There may be two internals as per the availability of time. Other than this assignment, seminars, attendence are important for internal marks. Practicals were provided at the right time in a scheduled manner. Exams are normally on an avergae level. It can be easy or can be tough . It is not very tough.
Internships Opportunities :
I haven't attended any internships until this time since the cell managing this is weak but the trainer assigned to as with the placement training sessions is notifying as about the internship availability.
Placement Experience :
Placement cell is not that active in my college. There isn't a proper cell to deal with student's placement opportunities. Currently the departments individually are taking care about these things. Departments inform you about off campus placement opportunities and provides you with placement training and mock interview sessions.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Fees is paid semester wise and the amount is same for all colleges under the university as told by them. Until semester 4, it was INR 18,750 per semester. And in alternative semesters a 1000 rs extra have to be paid for union related purpose. When we reached semester 5 the fee structure changed and it become 21000 per semester except the 1000 extra to be paid. But since from this academic year syllabus has changed and become honours course, the 4 year degree program the fee structure also has changed for them.
Campus Life :
Festivals are not that wide compared to other colleges since the management have a limit in providing funds. 5 to 6 festivals are common in the college every year which include Christmas celebration+Union day just before the Christmas holidays, Onam celebration before the onam holidays, ethnic day , victory day after the election , department wise fests and college day at the end of the academic year. Other than these small programs are conducted which is managed by the clubs of college under student leardership. Library is very well furnished and has a spacious reading area with a wide variety and availability of books. Class rooms are divided as two blocks. Some departments in the new block and others in the old block. Sports and extracurricular activities are conducted each year managed by the respective departments. Sports department trains the students to make them go to championships. There are a lot of clubs available in the college managed by Students and teachers.
Hostel Facilities :
There is no college hostel. But since this is a town area and there are a lot of housing colonies nearby a lot of pg and hostels within an affordable rate is available. College itself will give you information regarding hostels with their contact information if enquired during admission time. The hostel I currently stay was reccomended by the college itself . It is nearby convent hostel with a mess fee of 5000/- per month with good physical conditions and just a few minutes from the college.

college provide best on their placements , as a part of making college to be best at the era . principal told to our batch that they will provide 50% of placements , i am glad to be in this batch because sometimes i may get a college placement to make an expirence for the future jobs

I chose Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) because of my interest in technology, programming, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The curriculum follows KTU regulations and covers both theory and practical subjects. Most faculty members are qualified . Internal exams and semester exams are conducted on time. The difficulty level is moderate to a lil bit high and students who attend classes regularly can perform well.
