My experience in a law university
Likes
- I love the fact that our college is actively participating in moot courts and other extra curricular activities
- The library provides us with all the legal books we need and they also provide us free access to manupatra, scc, hein online and other websites for researching.
Dislikes
- There is no great fest, just a small one in the auditorium, us law students miss out on that experience
- The administration staffs are weirdly rude for nothing
Remarks :
To be honest, my first preference was Christ but due to some reason my father wasn't allowing it, so when the registration time alloted for law colleges came almost to an end is when I decided I'll join ramaiah to pursue my career. The admission process was pretty easy, we had to give a telephonic interview and we were selected on that basis. But as I'm aware the recent batches were supposed to give an entrance. And they don't admit us on the CLAT marks which ideally is a good deal As of marking, Ramaiah College of Law is a KSLU affiliated College and frankly their grading system is utterly disappointing, they give marks to unwanted exaggeration instead of giving marks to student that have written to the point. (They don't really seem to care about content but about the number of pages you've scribbled off)
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course is great, a few subjects are interesting some of the faculties are really great some are really the opposite. I havent really liked the teachers method of teaching majorly, some are good, just a handful but there are some teachers where u put all your mind and heart into understanding what they're teaching and you wouldn't understand a word Exam schedule wouldn't be out until 2 weeks of exam or sometimes even one, the pressure is bad, the majority of students face numerous amount of backlogs, the semesters finish within a blink of an eye. There is no time for proper preparation and I don't want to go on about how the kslu follows their grading system and how teachers give us internal marks, it's all very disappointing.
Internships Opportunities :
Yes, internships are mandatory here, and a minimum of 20 weeks of internship is required. I have done 1 internship so far, there is mostly no stipend provided for legal internship but again it depends on the company you're working under and the in-hand experience I interned last summer at DLSA rural Which stands for district legal services authority and I was given the privilege to attend all the courts and observe the proceedings and make notes, we also visited the rural areas in the outskirts of bangalore and understood how NGOs and government schools run and all the legal procedures required and etc.
Placement Experience :
As far as I know, the placement cell tries to do a great job but merely anyone gets placed based off college There are barely any placements I'm aware of so I'm not really sure about this part. Although there is a placement cell in college that helps you with the placement
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I pay 1,75,000 per year which makes it 85000 per semester, everything is mostly included in the fees but we pay a huge extra ton to KSLU for examination fees and such, they just seem to loot money. As of the registration fees, we pay around 1200 if I'm not wrong and if you've been selected then u must pay 50000 to lock your seat and this will be deducted from ur first years fee. There are a few scholarship students that pay around 20000 lesser. I'm not aware of the other category. Also, the karnataka students pay much lesser than the ones migrating as far as I'm aware of.
Campus Life :
There are numerous committees and clubs and it's very active, ramaiah college of law is active taking part in inter college competitions and etcetera Almost all of the committees are run by the students under the guidance of a faculty Almost all the textbooks we need are available in the library, each classroom has a projector and a cctv The sports committee is good I'm not that aware but there always tends to be fights during sports day which in the end leads to the cancellation of our sports day every. Single. Year.

For our degree program we have well placement opportunities other than bsc agriculture and btech biotechnology. For our college only company will come like itc,shula wine, Nestle etc and they offer good package minimum around 4lakh and some have aptitude test and interview some direct interview

There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students

The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.

the average package is 6 lpa and highest is 14 lpa and there is a placement cell that helps students to get placed. the placement rate of our college is 90%. and the companies come to our college is tcs, tech mahindra, infotech, zelethra, wipro etc.

The criteria is the cgpa should be above 7 and the companies visited are wipro, flipkart, amazon etc. the highest package is 48 lakh per annum and lowest pacuis 3 lakh per annum and the average is 6 lakh per annum

The placement of the college is excellent in the cse stream it has an average package of 9 lakh per annum and highest package of 38 lakh per annum it is a good salary or package for an engineer so it is good placement
BSc Physics at Jain University
Course Curriculum Overview :
Faculties are well qualified and some of them are doing active research. However the college does not have a very active research environment but they do not hinder a student from taking up projects outside. They provide all support like recommendations, attendance permissions etc.
MSc Physics at Christ
Course Curriculum Overview :
All the faculties are well qualified and quite renowned in their research fields. However some of them have this quality of holding personal grudge and targeting. Some assume you know a lot and don't teach properly and expect more from the student. There is a lot of pressure even with internals, assignments and other things.

Placement Experience :
For placement, The student shouldnt have any backlogs. There are companies that are stated as "Great Places to Work" as well as some startups that come for college recruitment. The highest package last year (2023) was 6000000, and the average package of the university is approximately 850000. A good percentage of people who opt for placements do get placed decntly. My plans after my BBA are writing GMAT and going for my MBA abroad in a good college.
