NIT Goa review: academics, campus life and more

- College infrastructure is Great and it’s a beautiful campus, NIT Goa has been awarded as a Green Campus last month.
- Faculty are supporting and ready to help us 24/7. All the faculty are well experienced and also have industrial experience so they explain the practical issues along with the academics
Dislikes
- WiFi inside the Hostel is really bad and the mobile data is zero. Administration is working on improving this issue
- Currently the playground is filled with water. The administration says it will take time to drain out all the water. Because of this students are not able to play games and have to go to other private grounds to conduct college competitions
Remarks :
I wanted to join in some IIT or NIT so based on the counselling I got NIT goa. There were no such things as GD or interviews the only thing for entrance is JEE exam once we clear that and sit for councilling we will get IIT NIT OR IIIT based on the score in JEE
Course Curriculum Overview :
All the Faculty have done their PhDs from the top IITs. We have 2class tests one before and one after the mid-semester and one end semester The exams are not that tough. If we start the syllabus one week prior to the exams we can score decent or be in that top 5 also so exams are not tough
Placement Experience :
The CGPA should be above 6.5/10 to sit for the placements The visited companies are Infosys, semens etc Highest package for my program was 24LPA and average package was 9LPA For my program the placement percentage was 96% My plan is to sit for the placement and grab a job
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
For odd semester the fees is 11000 and for even semester it’s 1000. The fees has been increased from our academic year previously for pass Sem it’s was 5000 but now 11000. Coming to scholarships people who have income less than 1,00,000 can apply in NSP and get scholarship amount of 80,000-1,00,000 in first year and 40,000-50,000 for the rest of the years
Campus Life :
We have Saavyas in the even semester in the month of Feb or March. Where people from different colleges and and participate in various technical and cultural competitions like dancing, singing, poetry, robo race, quiz, technical debates, Games, Fasion Show and many more PRASAG which is organised in the month of OCT in this event competitions are organised between branches Apart from Fests. The college celebrates all the festivals grandly Diwali, dussera, Holi, Pongal, Onam and other festivals Library has all the required books for the academics students can borrow book for 15days Every month 1 or 2 sports competitions are organised like football, cricket, volleyball, badminton, Basketball etc There are many clubs Photography, Music, dance, film club, EBSB all these clubs are active and organise events, fun activities frequently Apart from clubs each department has there own association which are very active and organise events, fun activities, webinars, Workshops etc.
Hostel Facilities :
The food quality is satisfactory and menu is diverse has lot of items For Breakfast we have idli, dosa, Upma, puri, aloo paratha, set dosa along with this milk, coffee, tea, fruits, bread and Jam are severed everyday

Course Curriculum Overview :
I choosed this course because the course covers all the aspect of commerce field . The teaching method and quality is also very good . We have smartboard in every classroom . All the professors use smartboard to teach . We have 3 isa in which 1st one is compulsorly and in 2nd and 3rd isa we get improvement chance which helps us to score better in term exam as the marks of isa are added in term exam .

At the end of the 3rd year Campus placement starts and I would like to tell that many 4-5 star hotel come to campus for placements Like TAJ , Hyatt , many airports companies Lowest package was around 2.5L annually and highest was around 6-7L per annum

Placement Experience :
Placements and internships are good there are two internship seasons named as PS1 and PS2 which is based on our curriculum. During the past 2 years the placements have not been that great because of the ongoing recession. But still companies are coming with less packages and students are getting placed but frequency is less. My plan after the degree is to get some job experience and then I will try to go pursue MBA.

Great ! You can get it easily in your preferred city/country. There are many hotels which are linked to iihm so interships and placements are easily available in your preference. Good fot that reason.

Faculty are very experienced and distinguished personalities they are very knowledgeable in their fields. The course here is very tough. Scholarship is available in 2 channels 1st is merit scholarship, the 2nd is merit cum need scholarship.

They also offer on campus placements to crack interview, the eligibility criteria for placement is that you should have excellent Communication skills, and you should clear backlogs, there are 12 recruiters attented for on campus placement and offered a highest package as 8-9 LPA, and lowest package as 5-6 LPA, students who got placements have more than 75%, It's better to have better communication skills to crack an on-campus placement...

On campus placements are offered every year. The highest package last year was around 60 lakh while the lowest was 8lpa. Out of all the students only one student wasn't placed which gives us almost 100% placement rate. Almost all top companies visit our college including Google, Amazon, Facebook etc.

Placements are excellent. Top companies have hired freshers from here . My branch CSE has 100% placement rate and overall all branches have 99% placement rate . Usually students are offered on campus placements so there is no need to go for off campus opportunities
