The best NIT among young NITs: NIT Goa
Likes
- The new permanent campus is just awesome it is huge with all the facilities needed, be it library sports facilities and everything else.
- The hostel is good as the now have single occupancy room for every student, this provides personal space to each student where they can upskill without distraction.
Dislikes
- I do not like the mess at the college as they fail to maintain the hygiene and the taste is also pretty bad.
- Due to the campus being a new there is not that huge alumni network which results into less contact into industries and affects the internship of the students, this is improving day by day.
Remarks :
I chose this college as it has a tag of National importance and the placement and location are also quite good. To gain admission one has to clear JEE mains and then go through Josaa counseling where they may get this college or any other NIT based on their rank.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose Electronics and communication engineering as this is an evergreen branch having both the core and IT side, and it's easier to transition in both of them. All the faculties have PhDs in the respective specialisation where most of them have gained it from IITs and a few from abroad. There are 2 minors, 1 midsem, and 1 endsem for every semester, there may also be a minute project depending on the subject. The difficulty level solely depends on the professors and varies every year. There is financial aid provided by the government to those belonging to SC/ ST reservations, an annual income mess of 1 Lacs, having 100% exemption on tuition fee, while those belonging to 1-5 Lacs annual income have to pay only 1/3 rd of tuition fee.
Placement Experience :
Students become eligible for campus placement after reaching the last year which is the 7th semester, various companies visit for placement, including Samsung, Adobe, Nvidia, etc. The average package lies around 12LPA and the highest at 25LPA, and last year around 200 offers were given across all branches. For the circuital branch, the placement percentage is around 90+ and lower for non-circuital branches. Many students opt for higher studies after completing the course.
Campus Life :
Saavyas is the annual techno-cultural fest and is held in the month of March-April There are many other fests such as prasang which is an interdepartmental fest. There are various clubs of each department and students can participate in various events organised by them. All students are given single occupancy rooms from the very first year, the room includes a bed, table and chair with a cupboard and a paid laundry facility on each floor. There are not many PGs available near the new campus and students either stay at PGs 2 km away or in the nearby city of Madgaon. The hostel registration process is simple and includes paying fees at the online portal and mailing the warden for room allotment.

I choosed this course because the course covers all the aspect of commerce field . The teaching method and quality is also very good . We have smartboard in every classroom . All the professors use smartboard to teach . We have 3 isa in which 1st one is compulsorly and in 2nd and 3rd isa we get improvement chance which helps us to score better in term exam as the marks of isa are added in term exam .

At the end of the 3rd year Campus placement starts and I would like to tell that many 4-5 star hotel come to campus for placements Like TAJ , Hyatt , many airports companies Lowest package was around 2.5L annually and highest was around 6-7L per annum

Placements and internships are good there are two internship seasons named as PS1 and PS2 which is based on our curriculum. During the past 2 years the placements have not been that great because of the ongoing recession. But still companies are coming with less packages and students are getting placed but frequency is less. My plan after the degree is to get some job experience and then I will try to go pursue MBA.

Great ! You can get it easily in your preferred city/country. There are many hotels which are linked to iihm so interships and placements are easily available in your preference. Good fot that reason.

Faculty are very experienced and distinguished personalities they are very knowledgeable in their fields. The course here is very tough. Scholarship is available in 2 channels 1st is merit scholarship, the 2nd is merit cum need scholarship.

On campus placements are offered every year. The highest package last year was around 60 lakh while the lowest was 8lpa. Out of all the students only one student wasn't placed which gives us almost 100% placement rate. Almost all top companies visit our college including Google, Amazon, Facebook etc.

Placements are excellent. Top companies have hired freshers from here . My branch CSE has 100% placement rate and overall all branches have 99% placement rate . Usually students are offered on campus placements so there is no need to go for off campus opportunities
