- Infrastructure- one of the best 2nd Generation IIT , lot of infrastructure is ongoing , and many thing are best few of them Hostel, Pods(academic and lab building ) , big seminar hall, best lecture hall ,Abhinandan bhavan(main building) , sport facility include almost all ususal sports.
- College Life : one of the best 4 years of life , you will spend in IIT Indore , lots of club , society , very good faculty, good placements.
Dislikes
- Compare to old IIT , IIT Indore is in growing phase most of the infrastructure projects are going on, Placements for lower branch are not so good.
- campus Life- Campus is located outside of city 25 km from Indore , you won't enjoy city life and road is also in bad condition.
Remarks :
I got Admission through Joint Entrance Exam (Jee mains followed by Jee Advance) . this test is must to take admission in any IIT for BTech Course. Counselling - after Jee advance result out , need to go for JOSAA counselling. JEE Cutoff for IIT Indore (Most Recent) Computer Science Engineering - AIR 1389 for Gen Male Mathematics And Computing - AIR 2180 for gen male Electrical Engineering - AIR 3818 for gen male Space Science and Engineering - AIR 6640 for gen male Mechanical Engineering - AIR 6812 for gen male Engineering Physics - AIR 7612 for gen male Chemical Engineering - AIR 7913 for gen male viii. Civil Engineering - AIR 9773 for gen male ix. Metallurgical Engineering and Material Science - 10894 AIR for gen male candidate NOTE: for Female, SC, ST, OBC, candidate have different Cutoff. Why I Choose IIT Indore Metallurgy- i. At my Rank it is best choice for me. ii. Best campus and hostel . iii. Good Placements.
Course Curriculum Overview :
i Chooses Metallurgical Engineering and Material Science because i have diversity of topics in these field for Research. Psu through Gate and Oncampus. Faculty Supportive , Encourage student to do better , Encourage for Research (does not force). Most of the Faculties are Phd from IIT's or some Foreign University. Some Faculty are very good in Teaching while some are good in filed but not good in explaining things. Teaching Methods is either from ppt or writing on Board and Explaining. Exam Schedule mid and end semester , For Spring Semester ,starts with January mid semester is generally scheduled around last week of February and End semester is scheduled around first week of May.. Internal Marks- scheduled Quiz , surprised Quiz , Viva, Assignment generally Carry 20-40 % of total marks depending upon faculty . Difficulty vary with subject and faculty it may be that difficult of Jee Advance or may be as easy as Board Exam.
Internships Opportunities :
I have not Opted for Internship , not a very good chance for On campus Internship except Computer Science and Electrical Branch. Many good companies hires from Internship only like-Quedeye, Oracle, Google, Amazon, Goldman Sachs , Walmart, Cred and many others. almost all Computer student get internship and half of the electrical student also get.
Placement Experience :
This Placements is not started yet , but few people from CSE and EE get Pre Placement Offer , around 60 people ,and avg package is around 35 LPA , Recruiters are - Oracle, Google, De Shaw , Qudeye, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, Cred, BNY , Walmart ,Accenture etc. 2025 batch Placement Recruiter till now Excluding PPO - Accenture Japan, Google, Zomato, MathWork, Samsung, DataBricks, Texas Instrument , SEDEMAC , Deloitte, UKG, Axtira, Optum, Versa, HPCL, BPCL, Godrej , Accenture. Placement is Just Started. Most of the high Paying companies opens for Circuital Branch CSE, EE . but other also has chance if he/she can grab. like google , zomato ,like companies open for all branches. - CPI criterial - most of the company have 7+ cpi , and No active backlog , few also have 8+ . - Avg Package(not exact) i. CSE- 30LPa+ ii. EE- 20LPa iii. Mechanical, Civil and Metallurgy is around 13-15 LPa

Campus Life :
FLUXUS - Biggest Cultural Fest of Central India. i. It happen in March. E-Summit and many other vents happens time to time. -Sports Lakshya inter hostel happen every year. Inter-IIT sport events happen in december every year in 2024 IIT Indore is hosting most of the event. IIT VS IIM Indore happen time to time. Library has two part one is LRC(Learning Resource Center) and other is FSZ(Free Study Zone) LRC Contains resouces like books, journal and open from 9:00 AM to 11:00PM from Monday to Saturday. FSZ open for 24 * 7 . CLUBS Almost All Clubs you have heard.
Hostel Facilities :
IIT INDORE MESS - there are three options of caterer we are having , we have to choose every month. - Food quality is good, few time in week where food is not good. - Breakfast is best comparing to Lunch and Dinner. Hostel is Mandatory for All BTech Student in IIT Indore. There are 6 hostel in IIT Indore , 5 for Bachelor and one for married couple (phd ) , Btech final and Pre-Final year stays in APJ Hostel , having AC . - There are Flat system in Hostel , 6 Room in a flat , one common kitchen , common bathroom and washrooms, lot of common area. - I can say IIT Indore Hostels are best hostel in India. you can compare with 5star hotel.

Placement and job opportunity is good in this college around 60% placed before start of 7th semester and 90% placed till end of 8th semester. Various company like Amazon , tcs , infosys , etc visit the campus. Highest package till now is 44 lpa and average is 6.5 lpa

The placement is quite quite good as year on years recently the placement was goes 57LPA to 75LPA and teh avg was 7-8LPA and median is 10LPA something. The college have 100% placement record every year and they also give grants and loans for students who wants to startup. But the internship support is zero like college are only focused on placement they are not foucing on internship.

I would like to say there are more job openings and internship programmes we had than a private college for both Graduates and Masters students. job openings in TCS/ banks and industries too. The thing is you need to put effort to grab a good opportunity. attain placements opening whenever you got notification from college groups. be prepared. ask your teacher to clear more doubts. However, I am the one who already had a job so I did not take from there because I was working in tech mahindra and its work from home in my favourate feild.

MBBS is concerned there is no issue with placement. As none of the doctors are jobless. And obviously placements are good one can work in well esteemed organization after just MBBS but more people prefer to opt PG course.
