Likes
- The location of the campus, backwaters of kochi and 5 min walk to the beach and market.
- The accessibility of the campus, all modes of transportation is almost 20 minutes away from the campus.
Dislikes
- The campus lacks facilities that required by any other marine collage, but am hoping in the future it will be met.
- The examination criteria is a bit complex which may be confusing to freshers.
Remarks :
The pride of the uniform and the discipline and the environment of learning were the reason why I opted thos collage. I cleared IMUCET to get enrolled in my collage and scored 2462 rank. I did only the basics for the exam and cleared it with good exams... For my interview I just went in hastle free. It was an online interview basic question and got enrolled in the collage.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course is enrolled with IMO circular syllabus that renews every 3 years. This course is a mix of everything a cadet needs to meet their experience in the upcoming careers as deck cadets. The faculty is very friend and frank which shares their experience with us that makes us more habitual of how life at sea works. Every faculty either it is the guest or permanent only has to teach 40 students that gives us opportunity to ask any querries and for them to teach us hassle free.
Internships Opportunities :
In Merchant Navy there are no internship but deck cadetship which is of 12 months. I have not enrolled as deck cadetship is same as placements and the placements in IMU starts from 5th semester. Hoping to get placed soon.
Placement Experience :
IMU kochi is a new collage with emerging relationship with other companies. Before IMU kochi only had 70% placements but now it has 99% placements. New companies are trusting IMU kochi in giving good breeds of deck cadets and hope that more companies will enroll with IMU kochi in the future.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
122000+30000 for odd semester and 122000 for even semester. Total 6 sems and total 875000 for three years. Same for all categories but avail scholarship for SC/ST after enrollment upto 100000-800000. Especially for maharastrian student and female students.
Campus Life :
The campus holds many events that enables us to partake and socialize with other campuses and collages and get to know our level. The campus also organizaes placement committee lead by students that gives ua a brief about the companies and how they work and what we should do to be molded into their parameters and drafts.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel is very good, clean bathroom and clean corridors that are maintained everyday by extra workers. Including the mess which has average food and extra clean environment of the mess. The food is hygenic but the taste is not so good. In a room only two cadets are allowed to stay. Comparing to other IMU hostels, kochi has the best ones.

The eligibility according to our teachers is that we have to get the 7.5 above CGPA and the number of companies that have visited and recruited are TCS Wipro et cetera and the highest package will be to 7 and lowest will be 2 lakh my plan after the degrees that I will opt for higher studies and specialised in some specific course like Java and will look for the companies like that

college provide best on their placements , as a part of making college to be best at the era . principal told to our batch that they will provide 50% of placements , i am glad to be in this batch because sometimes i may get a college placement to make an expirence for the future jobs

Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) because of my interest in technology, programming, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The curriculum follows KTU regulations and covers both theory and practical subjects. Most faculty members are qualified . Internal exams and semester exams are conducted on time. The difficulty level is moderate to a lil bit high and students who attend classes regularly can perform well.

I choose this course because i have a strong interest in history and understanding past events,and culture and their impact on the present.the course curriculam is well structured and covers both core elective subjects,giving a balanced understanding of historical concepts.

There are few placement opportunities like infosys but we can't opt for high salary paying jobs.I am planning to complete mtech after graduating btech.There are many students with jobs from college selection but I don't like many jobs from college as per their salary

Most of the faculties are bds or mds graduated and well knowledged. Classes are mainly powerpoint presentation based and seminars. There are 2 internals and one model examination based on which qualification for university exam is determined.

I love zoology.. I want to build my career on this subject. My faculty has phd.. She teaches well.. I could understand all concepts very easily. There are internal exams. I am studying four year fyugp course. So there is only one internal. And then there is sem exms at last. If u study well u could score good marks. Little difficulty
