Mechanical Engineering Review of NIT Bhopal
Remarks :
The college was given with JEE mains rank. For CSE you have to get much better rank . There are no GD PI rounds . Overall the college is situated in the center of Bhopal, which gives easy access to all the prime locations as well. The college has its own Bus facility to commute inside the campus.
Course Curriculum Overview :
All the faculties are PhD graduates with more than 10 years of experience. Some teachers even have 30+ years of teaching experience. Not all teachers are dedicated though. The laboratories are fine , all the equipments are available though some are not in very good state. The Mechanical engineering curriculum is not too tough and you have a lot of free time as well. We have three exams in each semester. Mini test of 10 marks, Mid Semester exams of 20 marks and end semester exams of 50 marks, the rest 20 are internal numbers based on your attendance and assignment submissions and class performance.
Internships Opportunities :
Not many students get placed during On-Campus internship opportunity in Mechanical department. Around 20 students out of a batch strength of 200 students. The intership stipend is low , around 30-40 thousand per month. There are not many companies that give internship to Mechanical students
Placement Experience :
If you are having a CGPA of above 7.5 then you are allowed for most of the companies. Mostly the Tech companies, allow CSE , ECE, MDS , EE branches only and the packages are on the higher side. There are very few companies only which allow all the branches for software role. The packages of branches below EE are low. The average package of college is 11 LPA. If a student is not placed then he opts to study for GATE, ESE, BANK PO, RBI, CAT, UPSC, SSC. Around 75-85% students get placements. The companies are favouring girls due to their DEI hiring criteria.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Since the college is based in Madhya Pradesh many students including GEN, OBC, SC, ST are using the MMVY scholarship which gives 100% of your hostel and tuition fees. If you are from some other state even then there are income categories according to which you have to pay the tuition fees. For people below 5 LPA income, they have to pay 33% of tuition fees, which comes around 50000 annually, for people below 1 LPA income , they have to pay 0% tuition fees. So in either case the amount is payable. Apart from this you also have to pay the hostel and mess fees which is 60,000 total. For SC ST you get 100% scholarship irrespective of your state or income category.
Campus Life :
The college has its own culture and vibe. It's the only NIT which has its own in campus bus facility for students for free. Also the clubs and societies of college are much more active when compared to other colleges. Societies include Entrepreneurship Cell , IBC , ISTE , Roobaro , Debating Society, IEEE, Zenith Programming Club and many more. The infrastructure is getting better day by day and there are some newly constructed buildings as well. Although some departments and the main buildings are quite old and need some renovation as well.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostels are decent. Some of the old hostels can look compact. But if you are residing in Hostel 10,8,11,9 then those hostel are new and have a lot of open spaces. Also the mess food is above average, not too good , not too bad. You can survive with the mess food. The mess commitee decides the menu and the vendor as well , so you have freedom deciding the menu.

Placement and job opportunity is good in this college around 60% placed before start of 7th semester and 90% placed till end of 8th semester. Various company like Amazon , tcs , infosys , etc visit the campus. Highest package till now is 44 lpa and average is 6.5 lpa

The placement is quite quite good as year on years recently the placement was goes 57LPA to 75LPA and teh avg was 7-8LPA and median is 10LPA something. The college have 100% placement record every year and they also give grants and loans for students who wants to startup. But the internship support is zero like college are only focused on placement they are not foucing on internship.

I would like to say there are more job openings and internship programmes we had than a private college for both Graduates and Masters students. job openings in TCS/ banks and industries too. The thing is you need to put effort to grab a good opportunity. attain placements opening whenever you got notification from college groups. be prepared. ask your teacher to clear more doubts. However, I am the one who already had a job so I did not take from there because I was working in tech mahindra and its work from home in my favourate feild.

MBBS is concerned there is no issue with placement. As none of the doctors are jobless. And obviously placements are good one can work in well esteemed organization after just MBBS but more people prefer to opt PG course.
