- The campus is not that big and the departments are located very nearby. So we don't have to walk a long distance to change classes
- There are seating arrangements every outside the campus. So we can situndet the shade and rest after classes
Dislikes
- The classes of some departments are not that big. So, hosting a large no. of students becomes hard sometimes
- There is a lack of fans in some classes
Remarks :
This college focuses more on improvent in the academic aspect of a student than the other curricular activities. Of course, there are other curricular activities as well but the entire system is slightly more tilted towards the academic aspect of a student. The students have to give one exam for being eligible to get admission in this college. They can choose between two exams, they are CUET and PUC entrance test. CUET can be appeared in any part of India but the PUC entrance test can only be appeared here in the college during the specified dates. The cutoffs are high as this college prevails as the best college in northeast.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I have chosen the physics course as I am interested in pursuing further education in the field of physics. All of the teaching as well as the non teaching staffs are very experienced with most of them having more than 20+ years of teaching experience. They have all cleared PhD and they are helping us pursue our further goals. For each unit we have in our syllabus, three very qualified professors are assigned to teach us that unit according to the topics they have their qualifications in. For every semester, there are a total of 3 internal examinations and an end semester final exam. The three mid semester exams are CAT-I, CAT-II and CAT-III. The CAT-I usually starts from the 3rd month after the commencement of a new semester. The CAT-II is held 1-2 montths after the CAT-II. The end semester exams are held at the 5th month of a semester.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
As the college is a central government college, the fees is not high. The course that I am taking requires 5000-6000rs paid every month and there are no fees variations for students of different castes. However, a student choosing Management course should have to pay 15000-16000 rs per year as academic fees.
Campus Life :
The college hosts several fests every year. Some of the fests are the college week on the month of August which is an entire week of sports, competitions and various other activities. The college also hosts many small fests such as the EI fests, Library fests on the month of October. The library is full of books for both the arts and science students. The college has several clubs such as Youth adventure club, drama club, cultural club, maths club, chess club, etc and has several days in a month dedicated to club acting which students attend clubs and partake in activities hosted by the club
Hostel Facilities :
The food quality is very bad. We get served only rice, potato, chicken, pig and egg. On Wednesday evening, we get served chicken. On Sundays, we get served pig for breakfast and dinner and on other days, we get served potato and rice. The rice is over cooked sometimes, sometimes is undercooked. We have to pay a total of 2500 every month for the mess fees and an additional amount is paid on the starting of every semester during the admission process. There are faulty drainage systems in the bathrooms as well as the toilets. The hosteller's are provided with 2 buckets of water each day.

I chose chemistry because it is interesting for me,most of the professors have completed their phd and are associate professors few are Professor,the teaching method is good tho, For the exams,Final is conducted in may for the Even semester and November for the Odd semester, the difficulty of the exams are quite moderate

The faculties are quite good. The faculties are very knowledgeable and the teaching assistant present at the labs are also pretty helpful. So for the exam, in a semester there is a mid semester exam and an end semester exam. During end sems you will also have your practical exams

There are no placements for science or arts. Some companies come for bba and bcom. But overall no one is placed. Some people get jobs but not a good job. They would get the same job if they don't do thisdegree too. Placements wise its 0.
