In order to get admission in government colleges for B-tech we have to qualify KEAM examination. The admission for different streams depends on your score. I got 6097 rank in KEAM. And my first preference was at CET Thiruvananthapuram but I didn't got admission there. Unfortunately my second preference was at NSS COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING other than GEC Thrissur about which I regretted later knowing that GEC Thrissur is better than NSS COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING. The good aspects about my college was most of the students scored well in their exam and more educational oriented than cultural programs. Many of the students were placed in core companies like Shobha,L&T,Aarbbe, etc and also in non-core companies like TATA. some got sales and telecommunications, some got off campus placement at hilite. The bad thing about the college is there no much programs to enjoy and celebrate. Not supportive for show casing the talents mostly concentrated on studies only. Which ruin the college life.
I don't know why I choose this course actually. But I take this course by hearing that civil Engineering has many PSC opportunities and chances to get government jobs. It was the only thing I think I choosed this. But I would like to tell that civil Engineering is having the least placements compared to CS,EEE,EC and all. So only choose civil if you are really interested in it. Talking about the faculties, for us there were some senior faculties for taking classes but for our juniors most of the teachers were freshers. But we can't judge the understanding of their class with seniority. Some fresher teachers are also so good. Teachers are sincere but some teachers are not so friendly. Some are approachable in a friendly manner but most of them are not in our years. Most of teachers take class using PowerPoint presentation.some takes class using lecture notes also. Some teachers are having phD but most of them have mtech In civil Engineering department.
No I don't do anything internships with stipends. Our first year was during corona time and we only got 3 years campus Life . And the starting years was tightly packed and we didn't got any gaps to do intership. College doesn't provide any internship we have to find and download if we want.
Most of the companies prefer students with no backlogs or no current backlogs. And some sets CGPA criteria also.1 got placed in Shobha Dubai from civil Engineering, and about 10 or more got placed in L&T at different areas like Mumbai and Chennai. Gulfasia, Aarbee, Artech, Tcs, integreted etc were some of the other companies. And some got placed in it . Many got placed in an off campus placement from hilite builder in Kozhikode and Thrissur.
I joined in NSS palakkad in 2020. The tution fees was ?6300/- per semester. I have a rank of 6097 in keam so I got tution fees waiver (TFW) which is selected by government according to the rank, reservation, income etc.So I only had to pay the exam fees. •Caution deposit -?1000 (which got refunded after the program) •Registration fees - ?240/- •Tution fees- ?6300/- per semester •PTA fund -?12000/- during 2020 Then we will have exam fees which varies according to the number of subjects in each semester. For management students per year it was ?100000 for civil engineering which varies with department. I applied for AICTE Pragati scholarship, which is only for girls. And it should be applied in the first year itself. It pays an amount of ?50,000/- per year.Other scholarship like E-grantz and MCM was also there, but E-grantz is not paid regularly, most the students got their payments after graduation and MCM scholarship applied students got it for 2 years after that renewal didn't came.
Dyuksha is the major fest in Nss college of Engineering, palakkad . It was at April at our time. It is not conducted in every year. Other fests are onam, Xmas, halloween, valentine's day. NSS has a central library with enough books but most of the students doesn't utilise it. Sports and arts are conducted in every year and arts is known as noopuram. Only IEEE and NSS are the active clubs in NSS. Other clubs like 'Thuliga' for literature,EDC etc are not at all active
From the second year onwards till final year I was at the ladies hostel known as nila of Nss college of Engineering palakkad. The hostel is too good with its mess and food. During the time of admission we have to pay ?9000/- as caution deposit which seems to increase every year and rent was only ?300 and per day mess may varies between 80-100 rs per day and an extra amount of establishment and maintenance, electricity, waterbill will also be there. Total an amount of 3000-5000 may came. But it is worth. Only problem is the curfew is at 7:00 pm
The eligibility according to our teachers is that we have to get the 7.5 above CGPA and the number of companies that have visited and recruited are TCS Wipro et cetera and the highest package will be to 7 and lowest will be 2 lakh my plan after the degrees that I will opt for higher studies and specialised in some specific course like Java and will look for the companies like that
college provide best on their placements , as a part of making college to be best at the era . principal told to our batch that they will provide 50% of placements , i am glad to be in this batch because sometimes i may get a college placement to make an expirence for the future jobs
I chose Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) because of my interest in technology, programming, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The curriculum follows KTU regulations and covers both theory and practical subjects. Most faculty members are qualified . Internal exams and semester exams are conducted on time. The difficulty level is moderate to a lil bit high and students who attend classes regularly can perform well.
I choose this course because i have a strong interest in history and understanding past events, and culture and their impact on the present.the course curriculam is well structured and covers both core elective subjects, giving a balanced understanding of historical concepts.
There are few placement opportunities like infosys but we can't opt for high salary paying jobs.I am planning to complete mtech after graduating btech. There are many students with jobs from college selection but I don't like many jobs from college as per their salary
The faculity is generally experienced and supportive most students are satisfied. With the teaching clinical exposure. Facilities are friendly with the students. Regularly conducts class test and model exam to help students prepare for their studies and university examination. Faculties are high qualified and experienced
Most of the faculties are bds or mds graduated and well knowledged. Classes are mainly powerpoint presentation based and seminars. There are 2 internals and one model examination based on which qualification for university exam is determined.
I love zoology.. I want to build my career on this subject. My faculty has phd.. She teaches well.. I could understand all concepts very easily. There are internal exams. I am studying four year fyugp course. So there is only one internal. And then there is sem exms at last. If u study well u could score good marks. Little difficulty
As I'm a first year student I've not got information about the placement but there are so many placement options from South Indian Bank, icici bank and also from companies like deliotte etc The college has connection with many international companies too.
Minimum criteria for placement is for a student with minimum arrears.Even though supply there if you have skill then you will be placed .Amal Jyothi has a better placement compared to other college and is very good
