AIHM chandigarh is one the best college for hotel management in the country, in north india after IHM pusa delhi this college is very good in all the aspects and comes under top 10 IHM's . When someone looks for the college their are some aspects like Placements, Alumni network and Course curriculum. The college ticks all these aspects as its among one of the old IHMs whose alumni's are in all over the industry which help students during and after their college life. Placement in the college is very good all big names like TAJ,OBEROI, HYATT, HILTON , IHG , PULLMAN , Aditya birla group ,club mahindra and more like these come to the campus. Admission process during our time was easy just you need to get good marks in your NCHMCT exam , fill the college name in the list then you are good to go their no major hassle in this process.
Curriculum in the IHM's was not updated since long time, things which were taught and things which happening in the hotels are very different but after passing out their are some changes which are made in the course that must have include skills which may make students more industry ready. Faculties in the college are supportive and well equipped with knowledge, many them had experience with the hotels that made classes more interesting as they used share their instances.
In the second semester its compulsory to go for an industrial exposure training, i did my training with Hyatt hotels corporations flagship Hyatt Regency New Delhi, I trained in all four core departments naming Food & beverage services, Kitchen, Front office and Housekeeping.
During our time college had 100% placement rate, in the placement drive all big brands participated like Taj, Hyatt, Oberoi, Marriott and their were also some retail companies like Aditya Birla group and Arvind Lifestyle. Most of the companies had same procedure like 1st round GD, 2nd round personal interview and then company have rounds with senior management of the department.
The fee structure of the all IHM's are somewhat same, here in AIHM chandigarh during our time each semester had fees around average 50000-60000 and hostel fees is separate from this that would be around 30000-35000 for each semester. College does not provide any scholarship at their level but the scholarships that are provided to different categories from their state governments and central governments are applicable here. Some of the student got all fees paid by the scholarship for that you need to maintain good marks in your academics during whole of your college life.
Campus life is pretty good as most of the festivals celebrated in the campus but hospitality colleges are different than the normal colleges dont expect fests like things happening in the campus. Infrastructure of the college is brilliant all the facilities ae present like Ac class rooms , clean washrooms, lunch is also served to the students and tuck shop is also their where you can aspect fresh bakery products which are prepared by the students as part of their club duty. In second year student go for industrial training where most of the students decide that they'll be part of the industry or not. In third year nothing much happens all students just focus on their placements.
I was in the hostel for the 1st semester it was good experience but their is no AC, their are common washrooms. Food and quality was good, timings are strict for the hostelers. Menu is changed every month and decided by the committee of students.

College offers on campus placements opportunities in the 4th year of the course . Many reputed companies like Apple , Amazon , PhonePe , Maruti Suzuki etc visits campus for rhe placements. Highest and average package is around 60 lakhs and 17 lakhs respectively . 90 % students got placed this year
Placement and job opportunity is good because in civil engineering placement are good this college is better than many government college if no campus placement is offered than I prep for government exam connected to engineering like ies and many other best engineering government job
I don't have much idea about eligibility criteria because I have been in the clg 3 months. Company like Jp Morgan godrej britannia etc are the tip recruiters in our branch. This semester My H and Q company have given intern to many students. I am planning for government jobs. 40% of students are places in my branch.
Placemnts are better than other nits like hamirpur nit Jalandhar and nit kurukshetra also better than some private college like thapar its avg is like 13 lakh and median is 12 lakh for electrcal its same median avg is 14.5 and cse avg goes 20+ and ai avg 19 lakhs
placements are good and you can get the official data on college websity of my branch 94 placed out of 127 and avg package is 13.1 and median is 12 lpa but cse avg this year goes 20 + lpa but lower branch like civil has some low placemnt stats as many students go for foriegn ms or higher studies or gate psu from civil
Placements are average on comparison with other private colleges around here Highest package this year - 11.3Lpa The teachers help very much in placements and internship . The TPC cell of the college is dead for their work
The placement rate of chitkara is great from the starting of third year you can apply for placements . Various companies like Wipro, hero, Tata motors, Reliance, Lenovo visits for placements. The average package is around 8 lpa and heights is 45 lpa, from the college there are 100% placement rate.
There is minimum 4 months of internship we have to do in 6th semester and on campus opportunities is very good. Companies like Microsoft, Google, Atlassian, BMW, jp Morgan, AMEX came with highest package of 86 LPA
I was never interested in this course but due to family stress I was forced to do this and later on it was much intrested than any other subject. The beginning and end of universe is all what engineering teaches us and if somebody will find it not interesting then he should cut himself from this world.
The placement is quite very low for my department and my course. University is practicing for encouraging more companies for our course placement. It is improving but now the placement is low for my course . Like from last year only 5 were placed out of 60.
