Amrita vishwa Vidya peetam is said to be the best college with 100% college placement but it isn't true, there are various aspects to be looked into before joining, the joining process for my course was pretty basic and easy, a board of 5 teachers interview you online or offline as per your preference and you are selected if they find you acceptable and suited enough, my college has no cut off for my course and accepts students with atleast 50% in 12th board exams, this college has many good things to talk about but there are certain bad things which weight it down, for example this college doesn't offer spontaneous life to students, there isn't much of professional reach for student unless they themselves put initiative and work had they won't get any good out of this college. I had an interview with a panel of 5 people who teach us, which involved out department head, co-ordinator and our class teacher, no written tests were taken.
Overall this is a college where one shouldn't expect any events or much of entertainment as this college has a temple in the premises the dean doesn't allow much to happen, yes b.des and visual media students have events but other students don't have many things to get treated to. I chose this college as I would be away from Pune and would live an independent life with spontaneity, the staff is mediocre classes won't happen often for this branch but yes they are highly intellectual. There are 2 semesters per year with 4 exams, 1 mid sem and 1 final per sem, these exams aren't difficult at all if we go throught the notes once and be active listeners in the lectures we will be able to score without hassle. Course deals with everything to do with design and development, my course is a very skill based course which is often opted by people who are creative and know their way of going about their career.
No. I haven't opted for any internships till now as I haven't gotten as opportunities to get into any company, our college grants internships from the 3rd year itself. Many students stay back and complete 4 years of this course even tho they get internship offers in the 2nd year.
Amrita seems to boats about their 100% placements but it is only for those who put 100% of themselves and need to work hard, students who've passed out are doing good for themselves as they have gotten good placements and selections in different industries, multiple companies and different workfields, highest package to be recorded for other courses is 19 lakhs but as out branch is new it doesn't have alumni or pass outs, my branch is considerably new and will need a few more years for it to yield colours, there are multiple viewpoints which make me confident in Amrita yet I have my own doubts which will ofcourse be cleared in the course of future.
Each year a student enrolled for B.des is required to pay 49500 per sem which adds up 1 lach per year as one year is equal to 2 semesters, Students in B.sc visual media are also expected to pay the same Rupees 900 was taken for registration, there is seperate fees for bus and mess. Girl Students who live in the hostel are expected to pay 9 thousand rupees each month including mess and stay. Students with above 90% have a 40% off scholarship and will get a compensation on the next semester's fee, lab fees and all other fees are included in the semester wise paid fee, students from BBA are expected to pay rupees 6 lakhs as fee and have all facilities. Merit needed for a scholarship is above 90%.
The campus life is fun, no ragging, no hate towards anyone, everyone is pretty chill in this college, for B.des and VMC there are 2 fests which happen one is camera speaks and the other is artist day, out of these two camera speaks is given alot of emphasis and is a 3 days long event, the 1st day there's lamp lighting, 2nd day invitational walk ins and 3rd day would be a fun filled day for the students as cultural activities happen on the 3rd day, there aren't many social groups as such but there's a band, and there are instagram pages run for festivals, students lead and make these events a hit and have co operation from all the students in visual media and communication department, these fests are held is September and November, these days arent confirmed as some or the other spiritual event may happen before or after which inturn pushes the dates, Chroma is the name for artist day and Camera speaks is the name for the event.
Campus food is not bad, I haven't opted for any hostel I live independently outside the campus, the college is pretty good, infrastructure is basic and nice, the college seems to have an amazing visual media lab and has many trees in the campus, I've rented a pg right beside KPAMM orphanage, the food in the pg is basic and manageable, Amrita college has a canteen for girls and boys seperate, the girl canteen and the boys have same food but are partitioned as the management believes the students need seperation, food is cheap and nice, the quality of food won't be downgraded for a while as the people managing the store and canteen are people who've worked here for a long while now,
The eligibility according to our teachers is that we have to get the 7.5 above CGPA and the number of companies that have visited and recruited are TCS Wipro et cetera and the highest package will be to 7 and lowest will be 2 lakh my plan after the degrees that I will opt for higher studies and specialised in some specific course like Java and will look for the companies like that
college provide best on their placements , as a part of making college to be best at the era . principal told to our batch that they will provide 50% of placements , i am glad to be in this batch because sometimes i may get a college placement to make an expirence for the future jobs
I chose Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) because of my interest in technology, programming, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The curriculum follows KTU regulations and covers both theory and practical subjects. Most faculty members are qualified . Internal exams and semester exams are conducted on time. The difficulty level is moderate to a lil bit high and students who attend classes regularly can perform well.
I choose this course because i have a strong interest in history and understanding past events, and culture and their impact on the present.the course curriculam is well structured and covers both core elective subjects, giving a balanced understanding of historical concepts.
There are few placement opportunities like infosys but we can't opt for high salary paying jobs.I am planning to complete mtech after graduating btech. There are many students with jobs from college selection but I don't like many jobs from college as per their salary
The faculity is generally experienced and supportive most students are satisfied. With the teaching clinical exposure. Facilities are friendly with the students. Regularly conducts class test and model exam to help students prepare for their studies and university examination. Faculties are high qualified and experienced
Most of the faculties are bds or mds graduated and well knowledged. Classes are mainly powerpoint presentation based and seminars. There are 2 internals and one model examination based on which qualification for university exam is determined.
I love zoology.. I want to build my career on this subject. My faculty has phd.. She teaches well.. I could understand all concepts very easily. There are internal exams. I am studying four year fyugp course. So there is only one internal. And then there is sem exms at last. If u study well u could score good marks. Little difficulty
As I'm a first year student I've not got information about the placement but there are so many placement options from South Indian Bank, icici bank and also from companies like deliotte etc The college has connection with many international companies too.
Minimum criteria for placement is for a student with minimum arrears.Even though supply there if you have skill then you will be placed .Amal Jyothi has a better placement compared to other college and is very good
