- The great infrastructure is one of the most notable things about the campus. The way the planning structure was executed is really fascinating and mind blowing. There are 2 buildings namely the old block and the new block. The old block was the first building where now resides the classes of the Masters degree students. The new block, which has completed its construction in the recent years is where the main office resides. It is a seven storied building with two basement floors.
- The quality of education the institution provides is another notable characteristic of the college. There are international faculties arranged by the institution which are especially for the professional add on courses like ACCA(UK), CA, CMA, CIMA, etc. The professionalism of the faculties for BCom is also appreciable. They put all of their efforts into making the students understand each and every concept by visualizing it as a presentation or by involving all the students in an activity based studies.
- The availability of refreshments and the atmosphere of the campus is another thing i liked. The college offers many cafes. Skypiea is a rooftop cafe in the new block. It provides a peaceful atmosphere where the students can grab a snack and drink after the sessions and relax their mind. The campus is covered with greenery all around and does many activities that promotes benefits for environment and ecosystems.
Dislikes
- The high fees structure in both course and accommodation is a big negative of the institution. When compared to the course fees of BCom generally in Kerala, Rajagiri College of Social Sciences charges about three times of the other BCom colleges in Kerala. Other than BCom, there also exist ACCA(UK) program that charges around one lakh. The fact that the fee structure for the BCom program is excluding the study materials and the exam fees is quite disappointing.
- The condition of the hostel is another negative point of the institution. Here I am talking about the poor condition and lack of facilities in the Social Hostel. The Hostel needs an overall upgrade in all rooms. The fact that the hostel mess is separated from the hostel building is disappointing. The physical structure of the furniture inside the hostel is of pathetic condition. A heavy rain causes the rainwater to enter into the room through ventilations and thereby causing a mess. Sometimes there is power cut which are quite unpredictable.
Remarks :
While searching for colleges after completing the 12th board exams, I came across the name of Rajagiri College of Social Sciences in a site. It was referred as one of the most successful colleges in commerce in Kerala. Even though I searched further, I had fixed my mind on Rajagiri College of Social Sciences. After applying for admission in RCSS, I had received a mail regarding the orientation class conducted by the college to give us more idea on the details of several courses offered and fees structure. I received offer letters from RCSS for BCom integrated with ACCA(UK), CA, CIMA, CMA. I accepted the offer letter of BCom integrated with ACCA(UK). As prescribed in the offer letter, I went to the college on the date mentioned. The admission process was simple and convenient. There were no group discussions or written tests. On reaching the campus we were instructed to hand over the required files for verification process and to sign few undertakings. There was also a meeting with HOD.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I opted for BCom integrated with ACCA(UK) even though I got offers for several other courses too. The reason I chose this course was because I had done a small research on the scope of jobs after my 10th standard. It was clear that majority of the people were opting to be either an engineer or a doctor. I had a clear vision on the scope of ACCA program. I found Rajagiri College of Social Sciences as one of the best colleges in India for the ACCA program. The institution had already mentioned during the orientation class that the faculties for ACCA(UK) program were international faculties who were professional and well trained. Moreover, the institution also acquired NAAC A++ in the national ranking indicating the quality of education. The faculties for both ACCA(UK) and BCom programs have a great teaching method. They ensure that each and every student understands every bit of the topics. The exams for both BCom and ACCA are scheduled in a way that the students gets time to study both.
Internships Opportunities :
Rajagiri College of Social Sciences also provides internship programs for the students. Rajagiri College of Social Sciences closely associated companies and NGOs which enable them to provide internship opportunities for the incoming students. The Rajagiri Placement cell coordinates summer internships, winter internships by collaborating with the big companies for the students. Recently, the Office of Placement and Career Support shared that Deloitte-US has selected three BCom second year students from the campus for their Winter Internship Programs as Audit Interns. These students will participate in a 7 - week internship program with a stipend of 40,000 INR gross. With this selection, the college has officially empaneled with Deloitte.
Placement Experience :
During the orientation sessions and the freshers events, the most highlighted subject was the campus placements. The alumni have also gave a remark on the campus placements. Several successful companies like Deloitte are recruiting the fresh graduates from the campus during the third year. The students are guaranteed with a great future if the students also gave their cent percent efforts. The college even has a department called the Placement and Career Support cell which is dedicated to fostering extensive placement opportunities and career guidance support for the students. It offer a wide range of services, including guest lectures, career counselling, orientation session, and industry mentorship. There are 5 stages for placement procedure. Hiring organizations and presenting document, registration among final year students to identify candidates for the role, submitting profiles to hiring organizations, pre-placement talks and selection process, and finally announcing the results.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I opted for the BCom integrated with ACCA(UK). The course fee shall be paid in installments. For the first year, a total amount of 2,15,000 INR shall be paid which includes 95,000 INR for BCom, 1,01,695 INR for ACCA(UK) and 18,305 INR for GST. The second installment has a total of 2,05,000 INR ; 90,000 INR for BCom, 97,458 INR for ACCA(UK) and 17,542 INR for GST. For the third year, a total of 2,25,700 INR shall be paid that includes 90,000 INR for BCom, 1,15,000 INR for ACCA(UK) and 20,700 INR for GST. The course comes with an option where we can complete the course without Honors within 3 year and opt out after 3 year. In forth installment, you are required to pay a total of 2,25,700 INR ; 90,000 INR for BCom, 1,15,000 INR for ACCA(UK) and 20,700 INR for GST. However, the course fees might have concession while considering several categories like OBC, SC, ST, etc. There are many scholarships available like merit cum need, e-grantz, etc. where students get a concession in course fees.
Campus Life :
The campus offers a friendly atmosphere where the students can interact with each other. The institution provides various spaces like "Amigos", where students can sit and relax after heavy assignments or lectures, celebrate birthdays, conduct dance practices, etc. The infrastructure of the institution is an example of architectural brilliance. The campus is surrounded by Rajagiri Public School, Rajagiri LP & UP section, Playschool, etc. in the same compound. There are several clubs open to the students managed by both faculties and students. "Splendore", the college fest is generally conducted in December. It is the biggest fest conducted by the college with huge decorations and celebrations. The college library itself is three storied. It is well maintained and the books are categorized according to departments by the librarian. The college also supports extracurricular activities and sports. Rajagiri Basketball League is a basketball league conducted by the college to promote sports.
Hostel Facilities :
The option for hostel facility was provided during the admission verification day itself. Options included single room, double room and triple room. I opted for triple room. The room was officially booked and confirmed. Discussing about the accommodation fees, single room comes with 1,40,000 INR per annum; double room with 1,20,000 INR per annum and triple room with 1,09,000 INR per annum. The accommodation fees also includes food. There are 2 hostels for men, namely, Assumptions Men Hostel and Social Hostel. Both the hostels was located near to the college campus. I was allotted in Social Hostel. It has 3 wardens who were also teaching and non - teaching staffs of Rajagiri College of Social Sciences. The food quality of the hostel mess is above average with a variety of dishes namely porotta, chappathi, appam, idiyappam, puttu, ghee rice. Other than breakfast, lunch and dinner, the hostel also provides snack items at evening. During working days, lunch is provided at the campus mess.

Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) because of my interest in technology, programming, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The curriculum follows KTU regulations and covers both theory and practical subjects. Most faculty members are qualified . Internal exams and semester exams are conducted on time. The difficulty level is moderate to a lil bit high and students who attend classes regularly can perform well.
