- Infrastructure is very good. There are multiple buildings for different uses other than just academic purposes.
- The faculty here are simply the best! Everyone is incredibly helpful despite being strict. I don't think other colleges are of this same level faculty wise.
Dislikes
- Campus could be more tightly protected but otherwise it's already really good as mentioned in detail above.
- Food could be better. I know it takes a lot of time to prepare food but even then a rotation would be good as every week new dish would be really nice. College canteen needs a massive upgrade.
Remarks :
I have relatives and friends who have studied at Govt Med College, Thrissur. As it's also close to my home, I decided to pick this college. It's not far from the town either, just a 30 to 35 min drive. Cons are that security should be a bit tighter as it's an open area (no gates towards the campus), but measures to install CCTVs around the campus has been taken. Admission process if fairly straightforward. We have to get our documents checked and get the seal of approval by the college office. One can only get in through by writing NEET to this college. Cut-off marks vary year by year. In 2023, for general quota it was around 610 to 620 while for SC/ST it was 560-580. For PWD it was 210-260. No interviews as such are needed.
Course Curriculum Overview :
MBBS have always been my dream course so chasing it only felt right. TMC offers everything I need in order to become a top doctor. Every single teacher here is qualified with not just MBBS, but MD as well and sometimes further qualifications as well. In first year, everyone has minimum qualifications along with MD but from 2nd year onwards, most of the professors have obtained further qualification. Post-Graduate students who also assist the professors and teach us have minimum qualifications. All their teaching method is top notch, they use PowerPoints, Roleplay, live videos etc. In first year, we even have dissection to study Anatomy. Lab classes are always fun and it's very hands-on approach. We have internal exams every 2-3 months, short exams every 3 weeks. In 2nd year we have end posting exam at the end of the month of respective clinics. At the end of the year, there is a final university exam.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Tuition fees are around 26k for general quota. For reservation quotas, it would be reduced to 14-16k depending on the reservation. Caution fees amount to 6k while registration fees are at the maximum, 1k. No other charges apart from hostel fees should you choose to stay there. Scholarships are rare to find here. But financial aid is provided such as E-grantz which can potentially give you upto 1 lakh.
Campus Life :
The campus is very large and it is delightful in every way. It has not only the hospital and college (separate buildings), but it also has an indoor stadium, a football and cricket ground, gym, garden and several auditoriums. We usually have lot of festivities almost every month as our college is very involved in fine arts. Higher level competitions include inter-batch fine arts, All Kerala medical/ayurvedic/dental/homeopathic college fine arts, inter-med fine arts. Smaller fests include Carnival, sports events etc. Our campus boasts of a gym which also contains 2 table tennis tables and modern gym equipment. We also have a large football ground. For cricket, we have training nets and The Oval (like in official test matches). We also have an indoor stadium where basketball and badminton are played. Academic groups are very common here. Social life is high among your own batch, but there are groups that help you mingle with students of other batches as well.

I chose Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) because of my interest in technology, programming, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The curriculum follows KTU regulations and covers both theory and practical subjects. Most faculty members are qualified . Internal exams and semester exams are conducted on time. The difficulty level is moderate to a lil bit high and students who attend classes regularly can perform well.

I am studying four year fyugp course. So there is only one internal. And then there is sem exms at last. If u study well u could score good marks. Little difficulty
