I chose Surana Evening College for its vibrant culture, excellent placement, and convenient location in Bangalore. The admission process is relatively straightforward. There is no entrance exam required for admission, which varies depending on the course. Good aspects are a strong focus on placement and career opportunities which is rare in evening college, and there are highly experienced and knowledgeable faculties. And industry experts also visit the college monthly to guide us about our careers. A bad aspect of the college's lack was the high fees compared to other colleges The eligibility criteria of this college for B.Com is 50% intermediate board exams. You can fill out the form directly from Surana College's website or visit the campus and fill out the offline form for admission. There is no entrance exam required for admission.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Surana Evening College of B.Com program covers a wide interdisciplinary branches including Accountancy, Statistics, Finance, and E-commerce. I chose this course because of my inclination to the commerce field since my school days. The faculty at Surana Evening College is experienced and knowledgeable. Their teaching method provides students with a practical understanding of the concept. The fee structure is a little higher compared to other colleges but the fee hike policy is transparent, and any changes in fees are communicated to students in advance The college offers scholarships and financial aid programs based on merit, sports, and other criteria
Internships Opportunities :
Surana Evening College does not offer any internships as part of its academic programs. The focus is primarily on providing good placement for students. So, the college emphasizes rigorous training for placements and offers career counseling.
Placement Experience :
Surana Evening College provides very good placements. There are also training programs conducted to help students face interviews. Students can apply for placements from the 5th Semester. The College has hosted several reputed recruiters, students are been placed in several IT, BPO, and consulting firms like Deloitte, EY, Capgemini, and Infosys. The lowest package received by students was 2.5 LPA but the highest package was 7 LPA. The placement rate was pretty good, in 2018-19 around 62% were successfully placed. I planned to seek job opportunities in the commerce and management sector after my graduation.
Campus Life :
Life at Surana Evening College is lively and engaging with a strong emphasis on social interactions, clubs, and infrastructure. The colleges foster a strong sense of community through engaging events and active social clubs, providing students with numerous opportunities to connect with their peers. These clubs cater to a variety of interests including sports, music, dance, and drama allowing students to showcase their talents and develop new skills. The college infrastructure is modern and well-equipped with, amenities such as a library, computer lab, and sports facilities. There were also events like ''Verve'' in February and ''techSparkin'' in which students are told to do work on their project-related main curriculum and present them in the workshop. Apart from that, there were annual fests, and the farewell party to encourage students in their new life in college

For our degree program we have well placement opportunities other than bsc agriculture and btech biotechnology. For our college only company will come like itc,shula wine, Nestle etc and they offer good package minimum around 4lakh and some have aptitude test and interview some direct interview

There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students

The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.

The placement of the college is excellent in the cse stream it has an average package of 9 lakh per annum and highest package of 38 lakh per annum it is a good salary or package for an engineer so it is good placement

Faculties are well qualified and some of them are doing active research. However the college does not have a very active research environment but they do not hinder a student from taking up projects outside. They provide all support like recommendations, attendance permissions etc.

All the faculties are well qualified and quite renowned in their research fields. However some of them have this quality of holding personal grudge and targeting. Some assume you know a lot and don't teach properly and expect more from the student. There is a lot of pressure even with internals, assignments and other things.

For placement, The student shouldnt have any backlogs. There are companies that are stated as "Great Places to Work" as well as some startups that come for college recruitment. The highest package last year (2023) was 6000000, and the average package of the university is approximately 850000. A good percentage of people who opt for placements do get placed decntly. My plans after my BBA are writing GMAT and going for my MBA abroad in a good college.
