My life in College of Engineering Guindy
Likes
- Freedom to students. Social life is very good in campus. Campus filled with trees. Helping and high standard faculties. Fest and activities are always happening. Amenities centre is present inside campus. Swimming pool is there. Cricket nets are there.
- Faculties will be always available for guidance. Career guidance and alumni network are very good. Canteens and provisional stores are present in campus. Very large ground for sports is present.
Dislikes
- No college bus for dayscholars. Very old Lab equipments. College will be upto 4.45 pm somedays and it's is frustrating.
- Canteen can be improved and range of foods is very limited. Mess foods are not so good( heard from friends )
Remarks :
Bases on 12th cut off marks , admission are done. Students scoring good cut off will only get admission for csc,ece and eee. For other departments the cut off will reduce gradually. Admission process were smooth, since admission are through TNEA
Course Curriculum Overview :
I opted for CS , but could only get ECE though I scored a cut off of 198.5 out of 200. Many Faculty are highly qualified and their standard are pretty good. But very few faculty won't even come to class and give attendance. Per Sem , 2 assessments and 1 end sem exam and the difficulty would be moderate.
Internships Opportunities :
Caterpillar, Western digital,Susan technologies are few companies/start ups with stipend of around 25k per month. Internships will start to come from 5 th sem and many companies will offer a good pay even for internships. I didn't applied for internships, but many of many friends did.
Placement Experience :
Above 7 CGPA will be allowed to attend placements. Temenos, caterpillar,Western digital,Tcs are few recruiters and no. Of offers differs. 22 LPA is the highest package for role of ASIC engineer last year. Average is around 6 LPA. Around 75 percent will get placed. Attending placement is my plan.

Campus Life :
Kurukshetra is a biggest technical fest that happen in our campus every Feb/March. There are wide variety of books available with different topics and will be mostly available. Classrooms are provided with good amenities. Cricket,Hockey and tennis are given very much importance. And there are other sports as well. The are variety of clubs led by students like CTF,SAAS etc.

Placements are given in high reputed companies, even companies like Microsoft, IOS, intel are also collaborated with the college. And for animation they provide placement in" Toonz Animation, Techno park, Thiruvananthapuram.

Placement Experience :
Placements are good like when you rech the 4th semester you will be told to register the Placement portal and you will be charged 5000 to register in that Placement portal after that people from good companies or professional Placement trainers will come and train you give you classes the classes will be there until 5th semester end. After that many Placement offers will come to you in your given emails and you will be able to apply in those companies if you are eligible they will contact you. Internship offers the staffs itself give all the active Internship details in the college whatsapp group it will be created once your classes begin.

Placement Experience :
The eligibilty varies it's better to no arrears during placements average package could 3.5LPA Around 60 percent is placed I got placed. IN our college there are various companies that come for placemrnt like Capegimini, hcl, wipro, airtel, Ericcson.
Good college and value for money
Placement Experience :
Around 70% of the students from this course got placed, which is kinda decent I think. The highest package went up to 21 LPA and the lowest was around 5 LPA. Some of the main companies that came for recruitment were TCS, Zoho and Wipro. For internships also, students got chances in companies like Zoho, Amazon and Wipro. Most of the roles offered were related to HR, not much technical roles from what I heard.

The faculty of this college is good there are strick and the curriculum are good and every one in the college will face 2 test before the main exam internal test one and internal test 2 are the two test and practical will be taken place a side
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure in the college is high and for different course the fee is different for ELECTRONIC AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING I am paying ?90000 and for bus ? 16000 and someone in my class is paying ?125000 so not everyone is paying the same amount in the college

College providers many placement to the students if you know arrears we should we have eligible to the placement and highest packages 21 lakh per annum and the average packages 9.5 lakhs per annum the minimum package is 4 lakhs per annum
