College of Engineering, Anna University, also known as College of Engineering (CEG), Guindy is a public- government college and is well known for its excellent quality of education along with its cutting - edge infrastructure. The University offers 18 UG, 35 PG (Regular) and 34 PG Self-supporting courses. The admission in UG courses are purely based on merit basis of 12th class Higher Secondary examinations. Likewise, cut-offs are decided on the basis of average marks scored by the students in 12th class examination. Cut-off criteria is different for each branch of the college. Established in 1794, it is known to be the oldest technology college of the country yet having world class amenities.

The college has satellite based education and has digital library. CEG Tamil Nadu: Admission Process

  • The admission procedure for candidates applying for BE programmes is simply through a Single Window Admission System which is administered by Anna University. The higher secondary marks are scaled to 200. Merit list/ ranks are based on these scores and the counselling is based on these rankings.
  • The candidates applying for part time UG courses should have completed their Diploma with minimum 2 gap years. Admission forms are released on the college website in the month of October every year. Rank list is based on the Diploma score and Counselling is based on these rankings.
  • For the PG courses in Anna University, candidates must have a GATE score with qualifying score for assistantship in appropriate discipline of Engineering/ Technology.
