Remarks :
Admission is based on 12th class % and 12th %+ JEE percentile. The cutoffs keep changing depending upon courses. There is reservation for students from Thanjavur(10%)& Trichy(10%) & overall Tamil Nadu student (50%),also possible through NRI quota, Management quota.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I wanted the course as its in demand and related to my field of interest, data science. The quality of course and placement training & placements are very good. My cousin studied here now a job holder with good package. Faculty recruitment: phd is a must for them in their particular stream and they go through multiple rounds of interviews, tests and demo lectures, A part of faculty are also the students who completed their phd from sastra. Faculty are mostly good. Exams: There are three CIAs per sem from which best 2 are considered. cia-3 isn't cumpulsory. We can skip it if satisfied by our internal marks. There are lab exams around the time of cia-3, which are important. Difficulty of exams is generally course specific. Most of the students opinion is that cia-3 is difficult since it is conduced over the entire syllabus of the course. First year is pretty chill, just have to manage time. From second year, its a bit difficult as papers are technically based; as told by the seniors.
Internships Opportunities :
I am in first year so no internships but there are technical courses offered by companies like wipro which are like paid courses. There are many internships offered which are same like placement process and the stipend is also pretty good. Most of the internships are from the same companies that come for placements.
Placement Experience :
Any student is allowed for job placements if they have no arrears and if they have companies pre-requisities like minimum GPA. TATA, Infosys, Microsoft, Pay pal, Accenture, IBM, Cap Gemini, Cognizant, Bajaj, Asian paints, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, ZOHO, Ashok Leyland, Catterpillar, L&T, intel, Deloitte, tiger analytics are some of the top recruiters. The average package is around 8lakhs while from a professor, we came to know that the highest package was from Microsoft in 2024, which was around one lakh. Three of my seniors got 17lpa, 13.5lpa and 12lpa packages(i know them personally). The placement percent is around 75-80%. The university doesn't publish official placement data. I want to be a job holder, either in data science or in back end development fields.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
SASTRA dean's and merit scholarship, where top 2% are given 40% scholarship and the top 3-10% are given 20% scholarships. 16k/- is given once for hostellers having 7.5+GPA and 90%+ attendance and no discilplinary records. The gate exam qualified students get 12.4k/- per month as stipend. There are also scholarships for students from north east india and Jammu kashmir and ladakh. They will have to pay zero tution fees. Also we get insurance for health and accidents forr which money would be taken 1k per year. There is also Student welfare fund where the working person in the family if expired, all the fees of that particular student would be covered. This is the best thing about the scholarships available. Regarding the tution fees-it sums upto 8.58L in total. 6k for medical fees, developmental fees 10k which is one time payment. 1k per year as sports fee , registration fee 500, application fee 600, lab fee taken at the end of sem 300-400, caution fee 2k, admission fee 500.
Campus Life :
UTSAV, a technical fest conducted in September/October. A one day fest. I am in an association (COSMOS) and the official club event management club of DAKSH called OPCON that conducts it. It was pretty fun and personally learnt a lot regarding organizing events and management. It has tech talks, hackathons, etc. Fura is conducted in october/november under COLLOSEUM, which is an intra university sports fest where students can participate and play. Carpedium, a 2 day cultural fest under KURUKSHASTRA held in November. Includes dance competitions, stand ups, music fests, etc COLLOSEUM, an inter university 3 day sports event conducted in February. 50+ games are conducted for 3 days and also have price money. DAKSH, a technical event conducted in March, an open event where students from other universities can participate. Huge fundings from reknowned companies are raised which are used for prize money. KURUKSHASTRA is a cultural event where standup comedians, music artists etc perform.
Hostel Facilities :
Food and menu: 6 boys hostels & 8 girls hostels, 9th one is in progress. 5 boys hostels inside campus, 1 on the opposite to the campus. Over head foot bridge is available. Laundry for girls hostels is in the respective hostel but for boys there are two, one in block 2 of vinaya and other inside campus. Vinaya block 1 is for first years. block 2 and block 3 are for senior boys. Block 1 and block 2 are same and pretty good. No proper ventilation. Food is fine, except 1-4 meals a week. The taste is okay, but the normal menu dishes are repeated twice a week. The good items are only once a week. Weekly 3 times there is bread butter jam for breakfast apart from main dishes. Menu review is done one every two months but this time its continued the same after it was once changed in october. Student greviences and indisciplinary actions are taken seriously. Hot water for bathing, cool and hot water dispensaries are available. Mess fees including electricity and cleaning will 3.5k to 4.6k.

Placement Experience :
Placements are good like when you rech the 4th semester you will be told to register the Placement portal and you will be charged 5000 to register in that Placement portal after that people from good companies or professional Placement trainers will come and train you give you classes the classes will be there until 5th semester end. After that many Placement offers will come to you in your given emails and you will be able to apply in those companies if you are eligible they will contact you. Internship offers the staffs itself give all the active Internship details in the college whatsapp group it will be created once your classes begin.
ITS VALUE FOR MONEY
Placement Experience :
The eligibilty varies it's better to no arrears during placements average package could 3.5LPA Around 60 percent is placed I got placed. IN our college there are various companies that come for placemrnt like Capegimini, hcl, wipro, airtel, Ericcson.
Good college and value for money
Placement Experience :
Around 70% of the students from this course got placed, which is kinda decent I think. The highest package went up to 21 LPA and the lowest was around 5 LPA. Some of the main companies that came for recruitment were TCS, Zoho and Wipro. For internships also, students got chances in companies like Zoho, Amazon and Wipro. Most of the roles offered were related to HR, not much technical roles from what I heard.

The faculty of this college is good there are strick and the curriculum are good and every one in the college will face 2 test before the main exam internal test one and internal test 2 are the two test and practical will be taken place a side

The fee structure in the college is high and for different course the fee is different for ELECTRONIC AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING I am paying ?90000 and for bus ? 16000 and someone in my class is paying ?125000 so not everyone is paying the same amount in the college
