Life at TNNLU: Challenging but Rewarding

- The best part of the college is that professor are very interactive. Some professor like Mr. Azad who teaches Securites and Competition Law to senior students is very knowledgeable. He is founding faculty here, and make complex things very easy to understand.
- Campus life is very peaceful. The schedule is not too hectic, you have classes at 9 am and it gets finished by 4 pm (in between there is 15 minutes snacks break, and 1 hour lunch break too).
- People prepare for the Judiciary exam when they enter there 4th year, due to the flexibility provided by the university. There are dedicated books available at library for competitive exams as well.
Dislikes
- There is a certain level of locational disadvantage.
- The campus is not that vast and when compare to facilities which students at NALSAR, NLU Jodhpur, and GNLU gets, you definitely feel that there is a certain level of improvement which TNNLU needs to do.
Remarks :
I prepared for Common Law Admission Test for 2 months and was able to secure All India Rank of 1700. The best part of this university is the state it is in, i.e. Tamil Nadu. The crowd though is from Southern state mostly, but they are very welcoming. There are sufficient amount of opportunities provided by the university to the students if you are serious about the law career. Peers, professors, and seniors are also very helpful. The only disadvantage we have is location. Trichy is a tier 2 city, though with a decent connectivity, but we face a certain level of challenges in terms of receiving funds from the Government and inviting firms for placement opportunities.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course I am studing is B.com LL.B. (Hons.). Though being a Science student I always wanted to study commerce. The Commerce professors here at TNNLU are very knowledgeable and they are genuinely interested in making sure you learn the intricacies. The curriculum is not too hectic, and you will get sufficient time to participate in extra curricular activities like Moot Court Competitions, ADR Competitions, and Conferences. The faculty here are qualified who has done there Masterns from Top notch NLUs like NLSIU, NALSAR, and NUJS. The difficulty level of exam is moderate. If you study everyday even for an hour, you will be able to excel and get really good scores in exam.
Internships Opportunities :
Worked with Khaitan and CO (Rs. 8 k stipend) Worked as Research Assistant to Assistant Professor at NLS, Mr. Rahul Hemrajani (Rs. 7 k stipend) Worked with Royzz and Co (Rs. 10 k stipend) Worked as a student Ambassdor of Easten Book Company (Rs. 8 k stipend every semester)
Placement Experience :
The placement scenerio is not that good due to being a growing NLU. Still our campus was successful in brining firms like Trilegal on board for campus placement. The highest package offered here is 16 lakhs and the average package is 6 lakhs. the percentage of students getting placement is 20. My plan after getting the degree is to work with some Boutique Law firm.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The annual fees structure includes a tution fee of Rs. 1,00,000, a student welfare fund of Rs. 1000, an examination fees of Rs. 2000, a library fee of Rs. 5000, and a Muut Court, Seminars, and Co-curriclar Activities Fund of Rs. 3000/ In addition to the annual fees, students are required to pay user charges, which include room rent of Rs. 12,000 annum, mess charges of Rs, 30,000, internet charges of Rs. 5000, electricity charges of Rs. 12,000, generator diesel charges of Rs. 5,000, water charges of Rs. 12,000, security charges of Rs. 3,000, and sports and games facility charges of Rs. 3,000 . There is also one-time payments which is Campus Development Fund Fee of Rs. 5000, admission fess of Rs. 5000. Refundable deposit (15,000). TN State board students (2,23,000), TN SC/SC candidates (1,23,000), All India SC/ST candidates (2,17,500). Students who are from other boards other than TN, need to pay 500 eligibility certificate fees.
Campus Life :
The Life at TNNLU is very serene. The campus is at outskirts of Trichy so there are not much notice. You will find a lot of peacocks at the campus. The Infrastructure of university is decent. We have a fest called Inception every year in April. Library is one of the best among all NLUs of the county. There are plenty of resources available. There is badminton ground, basketball ground, football ground, and volleyball ground at the campus. We also have intra university sports fest call Cratos every year in March or April. There are various clubs and committees which students can join like MCC, ADR, Trial Advocacy. The Dance Club and Music Club of TNNLU is also very active.
Hostel Facilities :
As it is a NLU, so it is a residential University. You don't have a choice to stay outside the campus. The hostels are spacious. Just during summer it gets very hot. The food quality has recently improved drastically. There are though other options available at campus in case you don't like Mess's food, in toto, there are 7 eateries.

Placements are good like when you rech the 4th semester you will be told to register the Placement portal and you will be charged 5000 to register in that Placement portal after that people from good companies or professional Placement trainers will come and train you give you classes the classes will be there until 5th semester end. After that many Placement offers will come to you in your given emails and you will be able to apply in those companies if you are eligible they will contact you. Internship offers the staffs itself give all the active Internship details in the college whatsapp group it will be created once your classes begin.

The eligibilty varies it's better to no arrears during placements average package could 3.5LPA Around 60 percent is placed I got placed. IN our college there are various companies that come for placemrnt like Capegimini, hcl, wipro, airtel, Ericcson.
Good college and value for money
Placement Experience :
Around 70% of the students from this course got placed, which is kinda decent I think. The highest package went up to 21 LPA and the lowest was around 5 LPA. Some of the main companies that came for recruitment were TCS, Zoho and Wipro. For internships also, students got chances in companies like Zoho, Amazon and Wipro. Most of the roles offered were related to HR, not much technical roles from what I heard.

The fee structure in the college is high and for different course the fee is different for ELECTRONIC AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING I am paying ?90000 and for bus ? 16000 and someone in my class is paying ?125000 so not everyone is paying the same amount in the college
