UG experience at College of agriculture, Vijaypur (UASD)

- I made very good friends over there. People are very friendly and loving
- Faculty and their teaching is great. Curriculum is excellent.
Dislikes
- No canteen in the college One has to go to city which is 7 kms away from hostel or college to buy something. College is located in the city outskirts
- Heavy water shortage during summers. We had to store and use only 2 buckets of water for the whole day..
Remarks :
Dharwad university for agriculture is one of the top universities in karnataka for pursuing Bsc in agriculture. One has to get through the entrance exam called KCET to get into the college. No gd or PI will be conducted. 3 main rounds of lists will be released based on the cut off and then student can visit college to complete the further admission process.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I had special interest towards agricultural subjects which made me choose bsc in agriculture. All the faculty over there ( college of agriculture, vijayapura) are very well equippes with knowledge and are highly experienced and phd degree holders. Teaching is very good . Exams will be conducted every semester. Both internal and external exams take place. Difficulty level would be 7/10.
Internships Opportunities :
College won't offer any internship for students and also it won't offer final placements for final year students too. Students either opt for higher studies like msc or mba or find a job themselves or try clearinv government exams
Placement Experience :
No internship opportunities are provided from the college. No final placement is offered from the college. Students either choose to go for further studies once completed or find jobs on their own...
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I paid around 20,000 per semester, it might increase every year by certain percentage. There will be a total of 8 semesters. No fee for hostel as it's a government college. Mess fee has to be paid every month. It's a student run mess. Scholarships available: SSP NSP Merit
Campus Life :
Many events like youth fest, annual sports meet, and all other festivals such as ganesh chaturti, holi, teachers day, etc etc are celebrated in the campus. Library is big and well organised with all books necessary and is available till 5-6 pm in the evening. Classrooms are large enough with well equipped smart boards, projectors etc Sports facility is available with coaches. Study club is organized where students meet every week and discuss on current affairs and general knowledge.
Hostel Facilities :
Students need to deposit 10000 as a safety deposit which will be returned once you leave the campus after four years. Registration is simple and is done on first day of college when you arrive and rooms are allotted on the same day. No extra fee for hostel needs to be paid.

For our degree program we have well placement opportunities other than bsc agriculture and btech biotechnology. For our college only company will come like itc,shula wine, Nestle etc and they offer good package minimum around 4lakh and some have aptitude test and interview some direct interview

There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students

The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.

The criteria is the cgpa should be above 7 and the companies visited are wipro, flipkart, amazon etc. the highest package is 48 lakh per annum and lowest pacuis 3 lakh per annum and the average is 6 lakh per annum

The placement of the college is excellent in the cse stream it has an average package of 9 lakh per annum and highest package of 38 lakh per annum it is a good salary or package for an engineer so it is good placement

Faculties are well qualified and some of them are doing active research. However the college does not have a very active research environment but they do not hinder a student from taking up projects outside. They provide all support like recommendations, attendance permissions etc.

All the faculties are well qualified and quite renowned in their research fields. However some of them have this quality of holding personal grudge and targeting. Some assume you know a lot and don't teach properly and expect more from the student. There is a lot of pressure even with internals, assignments and other things.

Placement Experience :
For placement, The student shouldnt have any backlogs. There are companies that are stated as "Great Places to Work" as well as some startups that come for college recruitment. The highest package last year (2023) was 6000000, and the average package of the university is approximately 850000. A good percentage of people who opt for placements do get placed decntly. My plans after my BBA are writing GMAT and going for my MBA abroad in a good college.
