The fact that I choose the college is mainly because I wanted a distance education and JSS colleges were popular. As I took the management seat, I neither have to write any extra exams nor attend discussions or interviews. Only have to pay extra amount for getting admission. To get scholarship you have to write pgcet entrance exam for MCA and qualify for it. So you have the reduction in the college fees. As I mentioned for non karnataka students ( management seat)195000 per year, karnataka students (management seat) 175000 per year, and for pgcet qualified students it's about 110000 per year.
Firstly I choose MCA is to get more and more opportunities in the field of IT and other technologies. And all of us know the colleges are not the same as school, we have to learn by ourselves, even it's subject or the areas you are interested in. So it was more like a self learning process. The faculties were friendly and helpful with everything, they used to share the helpful books, PDFs, and other sources for references etc. Talking about exams, it was a sort of difficult phase, we were having 7 subjects and 2 labs for the three semesters and for the last semester it was 1 subject and the project. Each semester was about 4-5 months and the bad thing was there was only 1 day gap between our exams.
Yes, I've opted for internships near to the college for the final semester. But it wasn't a IT company, and there was no stipend. We worked for 3 months as a data Annotator. And to be honest it was disastrous. And our didn't give us any internship opportunities in companies. We had to find by ourselves.
They haven't provided much placements that matched our qualification. There was no such famous recruiters or offers received. All I have to say is that we have to make efforts in everything than waiting for someone else for something.
As a non- karnataka student/ resident I was asking to pay extra fees compared to the other karnataka students. For management seat,I was asked to pay about 195000 per year + extra application fees at the first year, it was nearly two lakhs. The fees for karanataka students for the management seat was about 175000 per year. And those who got scholarship by qualifying the pgcet exam was asking to pay 110000 per year. So over-all it took me about 4 lakhs as fees. Appart from these total fees you have to pay for the exam fees at the end of each semesters. We were told to pay the full fees at the starting of every year.
Life at campus was not really fun, it was kind a boring. As MCA had started too lately compared to the other post graduation programs, we were behind in everything and not involved. So our department didn't get a chance to enjoy the fest or anything. There was lot of study materials, books and previous year exam question papers available in the library for reference. There were lots of sports and activities going on but we haven't got a chance to experience it. There's no particular groups or clubs that the students run.
I have opted for JSS women's hostel. The good thing is that it was next behind the college building. So it was very helpful to go and come. The building consists of three floors, the ground floor for the PUC students, the next two floors or degree students, and the third floor for the pg students. The menu was utterly good for nothing. Every day it provides rice and sambar for lunch and dinner. And weekly thrice they will offer you snacks, and chapathi too for dinner. The registration process was fast and you have to pay about 30000 per year for the accomodation. And the mess fees you have to pay every month seperately. The negative is that they didn't provide a Wi-Fi in hostel even after requesting.

For our degree program we have well placement opportunities other than bsc agriculture and btech biotechnology. For our college only company will come like itc, shula wine, Nestle etc and they offer good package minimum around 4lakh and some have aptitude test and interview some direct interview
There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students
The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.
the average package is 6 lpa and highest is 14 lpa and there is a placement cell that helps students to get placed. the placement rate of our college is 90%. and the companies come to our college is tcs, tech mahindra, infotech, zelethra, wipro etc.

The criteria is the cgpa should be above 7 and the companies visited are wipro, flipkart, amazon etc. the highest package is 48 lakh per annum and lowest pacuis 3 lakh per annum and the average is 6 lakh per annum
The placement of the college is excellent in the cse stream it has an average package of 9 lakh per annum and highest package of 38 lakh per annum it is a good salary or package for an engineer so it is good placement
Faculties are well qualified and some of them are doing active research. However the college does not have a very active research environment but they do not hinder a student from taking up projects outside. They provide all support like recommendations, attendance permissions etc.
All the faculties are well qualified and quite renowned in their research fields. However some of them have this quality of holding personal grudge and targeting. Some assume you know a lot and don't teach properly and expect more from the student. There is a lot of pressure even with internals, assignments and other things.
For placement, The student shouldnt have any backlogs. There are companies that are stated as "Great Places to Work" as well as some startups that come for college recruitment. The highest package last year (2023) was 6000000, and the average package of the university is approximately 850000. A good percentage of people who opt for placements do get placed decntly. My plans after my BBA are writing GMAT and going for my MBA abroad in a good college.
